Roddy Ricch's Powerful BET Awards Performance Is Like a Music Video Come to Life

Roddy Ricch opened up Sunday's 2020 BET Awards with a timely performance that paid tribute to the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement, and the on-stage visuals make it seem like a music video come to life. Ricch kicked off the show with a piano performance of his hit "High Fashion," followed by a simulation - set to his song "The Box" - of what's it's like for him as a Black man to be pulled over by police. Ricch, who wore a Black Lives Matter shirt during the show, continued the song in front of blue-tinted video projections taken in his hometown of Compton, CA, adding a personal touch to the already amazing performance.
