Watch Every Powerful Performance From the Global Goal: Unite For Our Future Event
Artists and activists came together on Saturday for the Global Goal: Unite For Our Future event. The two-hour virtual assembly, hosted by Global Citizen and Dwayne Johnson, featured discussions with political, social justice, and healthcare leaders who explored a series of topics regarding COVID-19 and its demographic impact on the world and the scientific field. Celebrities who took part in the conversations included Billy Porter, Charlize Theron, Naomi Campbell, Olivia Colman, and Salma Hayek. This is the second Global Citizen forum of its kind, following the One World: Together at Home global remote concert that broadcasted in April.
In true Global Citizen fashion, there were a handful of powerful performances. Jennifer Hudson started the event with a gorgeous rendition of Gladys Knight & the Pips' "Where Peaceful Waters Flow," followed by John Legend's performance of "Bigger Love." Other standout sets included Chloe x Halle's striking staging of their song "ROYL" and Miley Cyrus's fervid cover of the Beatles' "Help!".
