This Dad Recounts What Happened When Police Were Called After His Daughter's Public Meltdown

When 8-year-old Cerys Lily spotted a Finding Dory lunch box while out shopping with her dad, she immediately fell in love with the back-to-school product. However, her dad, Robert Davies, learned that the display wasn't going on sale until the following day and he was unable to purchase the lunch box for his daughter just yet. Cerys Lily, who has autism, became visibly upset at the news and her disappointment quickly escalated into a public meltdown.

Robert had to physically carry his aggressive daughter to the car and shared on Facebook what happened after he managed to drive the distraught little girl home. Twenty minutes after arriving at his South Wales home, the police showed up because Robert had been reported for putting a child in a car against her will. Once he explained the situation, the officers were satisfied and even cheered Cerys Lily up by playing with their lights and sirens.

Robert thought that was the end of things and was completely surprised when Steven Bowen and Leigh Francis showed up at his door again the following morning - this time with the Finding Dory lunch box in hand. "I was a bit overwhelmed when they come so didn't get to thank them properly," Robert wrote. "There really are some good people out there!"

The Moving Story Behind This Lunchroom Photo Will Bring You to Tears

Leah Paske hasn't been in the "scary and hard" middle school grades for years, and understandably has forgotten most things about her experience aside from the one time she cried after a boy called her a name on the bus. But now that her son who has autism just started sixth grade, Paske has been feeling a bit of anxiety about middle school all over again.

"Sometimes I'm grateful for his autism," Paske admitted in a post to Facebook. "That may sound like a terrible thing to say, but in some ways I think, I hope, it shields him. He doesn't seem to notice when people stare at him when he flaps his hands. He doesn't seem to notice that he doesn't get invited to birthday parties anymore. And he doesn't seem to mind if he eats lunch alone."

Paske feels worried for her son, and consistently asks him if anything about his day at school made him sad or if he ate lunch with someone. This week, however, she got her answer to the latter question not from her son, but through a heartwarming photo of him eating lunch with a special new friend.

"Travis Rudolph, a wide receiver at Florida State, and several other FSU players visited my son's school today," she wrote. "I'm not sure what exactly made this incredibly kind man share a lunch table with my son, but I'm happy to say that it will not soon be forgotten. This is one day I didn't have to worry if my sweet boy ate lunch alone, because he sat across from someone who is a hero in many eyes."

If Your Child Is Sitting Like This, Here's Why You Need to Stop Them Now

My daughter's just over a year old, so there's really not much she's doing "wrong" yet. (Trust me, like all of us, she'll get there.) If she smacks our family pet, it's less hostility and more that she doesn't have full control of her arms. If she throws her food, it's not an act of insubordination but just her method of communicating that she's done eating. So, when a family member alerted me to something my child was doing that she needed to stop at once, I was taken aback. Especially because, at that particular moment, she wasn't stealing her playmate's toys or eating an expensive coaster as she's sometimes known to do. She was just sitting there.

Turns out, the way she was sitting - with each leg splayed at her side, knees in front and feet behind, to form a "W" shape - was all kinds of bad.

According to a vast majority of physical therapists, there are several key reasons why:

  1. W-sitting limits core strength because it gives kids a wider base of support. Because they don't have to engage their abdominal or back muscles in this position, kids often prefer it to more challenging, tiring positions, like with legs in front, at their sides, or crisscrossed.
  2. W-sitting causes muscle tightness, particularly in the legs and hips but also knees and ankles.
  3. W-sitting aggravates neurological issues such as low muscle tone, which means when kids aren't actively using their muscles, those muscles are floppier and softer and have a harder time holding their bodies upright.

What this all means, most therapists agree, is that prolonged W-sitting throughout childhood can lead to a delayed development in gross motor skills like coordination and balance. For those parents hoping to raise a star athlete, this position's effect on postural muscles can also be cause for concern.

Why do some kids sit like this? It's by far the steadiest way for children of all ages to sit, and aside from that innate tendency to achieve the most stability, it's also been attributed to time spent in infant carrier devices, like swings, bouncy seats, and car seats.

Seeing as my daughter had graduated from infancy, I was immediately concerned that the damage was already done. I had tried my best to limit her time in her baby swing and the oversize, overpriced ExerSaucer that I had bought under the assumption it was actually good for a baby's development, but here she was, W-sitting at every turn. I had never noticed it until now.

What can be done? Well, the somewhat alarmist recommendation is to get them to stop doing it immediately - that, whenever you see your child W-sitting, you either physically move their legs into a suitable position (if they're too young to understand) or tell them to do so.

So, with a watchful eye, I adjusted her legs every time she sat incorrectly, and my husband and I instructed our child's caretakers to do the same. Occasionally I'd correct her, and it'd be fine, but plenty of times, adjusting one of her legs would make her cry and most times, doing so annoyed her to the point that she was no longer interested in sitting and scooted off to go do something else.

She wasn't the only one getting fed up, and it had only been a week. I dug a little deeper and found that a few pediatric occupational therapists out there don't view this seated position as a problem necessarily. There's not much evidence that shows causation. That is, yes, children who W-sit often have orthopedic issues and muscle tightness. But W-sitting hasn't been proven to be the cause of those issues, which makes one wonder: could tight hamstrings and hip dysplasia lead to W-sitting, not the other way around?

One such unconvinced therapist, Rachel Coley, happens to be the mother to a W-sitter and maintains it's perfectly normal for kids to sit this way.

She notes that it's a simple sign of flexibility and aids in fine motor control because you need to assume the most stable seated position possible when engaging in tasks that require "coordinated, controlled movements of the hands and fingers." Coley also noted that, for babies in particular, W-sitting provides a convenient, "natural transition" from crawling or kneeling to sitting.

However, based on how strongly most certified therapists feel about W-sitting, I'm not taking any chances. I'm going to keep my eye on it, and I'll encourage other parents who were unaware of this issue to do the same, especially if they have older kids showing some of the negative side effects. But, if my child is having the time of her life smacking two wooden blocks together, I'm not going to spoil the fun if she happens to be W-sitting.

The 12 Parents You Meet on the Playground

Visit your local playground, and you're sure to see a microsociety that doesn't exist beyond the park's childproof gates. Though we still haven't run across any great anthropological studies about this microcosm of parenting, experienced moms know that there is a variety of parents you meet during your child's playtime. From the human snack bar (and thank goodness for her, because she's saved us from some toddler meltdowns) to the playground police (who probably prevented our tots from trying to perform some Evil Knievel-type tricks), here are the 12 parents we've run into on our local playground over the years.

Gabrielle Union Is Creating a Hair Care Line With Textured Hair in Mind

I've always turned to Gabrielle Union for inspiration when I need a new hairstyle. (In fact, I recently asked stylist Andre Rodman at Rita Hazan to re-create the star's signature shoulder-length cut on my hair.) In my opinion, the actress easily has one of the most covetable manes in Hollywood, whether she's sporting braids, waves, or her gorgeous natural hair.

Like many black women, Gabrielle spent years chemically straightening her strands. She told WWD that after years of damage from chemical perms, she decided to go natural but never found a full range of products that catered to her specific needs. As a result, she decided to create her very first line of hair care products, Flawless by Gabrielle Union, to fill that void.

"I want women with textured hair to have great hair days," she said.

Flawless is a 10-part range that includes shampoo, conditioner, shine spray, treatment masks, and even edge control gel (gotta love a good edge control product!). Each formula was made with a variety of textures in mind and can be used on both curly and straightened styles. The line was also developed with marula, argan, and avocado oils to solve common natural-hair woes, including frizz, dryness, and split ends.

"I've made it my mission to make sure everything from the formulas to the packaging are just right. I myself have suffered from one too many bad hair days and have never found one range of products that met all of my needs. I wanted to change that! This line is all about healthy hair and versatility - so you can change up your styles without compromising the condition of your hair. I want women to be able to express themselves, flawlessly!" Gabrielle shared in a press release.

The collection will be available in March at Flawlesshair.com (just in time for your Spring beauty revamp) and in April nationwide at Ulta Beauty and Ulta.com. Get a better look at the products ahead, and start thinking about which one of Union's trademark styles you'll be trying out once you snap them up!

Every Star Who Is Set to Join Jason Momoa in Aquaman

We've got a long way to go before the stand-alone Aquaman film hits theaters - it's not due until 2018! - but that's not going to stop us from getting excited. In the past year, we've already glimpsed Jason Momoa all suited up for his turn as the aquatic demigod. Aquaman has appeared in the Justice League trailer from Comic-Con, plus other behind-the-scenes footage in unexpected places. Now that the cast has officially united for the initial table read, it seems production is finally getting underway. As such, we thought it best to go over all the stars who have signed on for the film so far.

Can You Make It Through 23 Shirtless Jason Momoa Photos Without Passing Out?

Jason Momoa is like something built in a laboratory - if there was a laboratory devoted to crafting the finest human specimens on the planet. He's so ridiculously gorgeous that he has trouble not ripping out of his t-shirts, yet he's also a charmingly down-to-earth family man who we'd love even if he wasn't so beautiful. (But luckily for us, Momoa is both ruggedly handsome and an extremely interesting guy, so we don't have to choose.)

Between bonding with his family and getting fit for his next role, Momoa occasionally graces social media with shirtless photos - a gesture that we don't take lightly. We've rounded up some of the sexiest snaps from this collection (and a few from his film career for good measure) for your enjoyment, because . . . why not? Just try not to pass out before you get to the end.

The Heartbreaking Reason Queen Elizabeth II Won't Be Celebrating Her Sapphire Jubilee

Queen Elizabeth II is on the cusp of reaching a rare and important milestone, but don't expect to see her celebrating anytime soon. As the country's longest-reigning monarch, she'll have the distinction of becoming the first British sovereign to mark 65 years on the throne on Feb. 6, her Sapphire Jubilee. Although she went all out for her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, this year will be a much more somber occasion for a very significant reason. In an interview with The Telegraph, the queen's former press secretary, Dickie Arbiter, explained the heartbreaking meaning behind the 65th anniversary. "It's important to understand that for the queen this marks the anniversary of the day her father died," he said. "She has always made it clear that her long reign is a consequence of her father's early death and so it is not a day for celebration. She will go to church the day before and her father will be in her thoughts then. On the day itself, she will do her red boxes but she won't be going out and about anywhere."

The queen will reportedly spend the day at her Sandringham country estate, which is where her father, King George VI, spent his last days before dying in his sleep due to complications from lung cancer on Feb. 6, 1952. The royal family's 90-year-old matriarch, who has experienced health problems herself lately, will likely treat the occasion as business as usual, going through her famous red boxes and remaining in "quiet reflection" rather than engaging in any public events. The decision echoes her reaction to surpassing Queen Victoria as the longest-reigning monarch in 2015, when she politely revealed that the historic record was "not one to which I have ever aspired." Regardless of her choice not to publicly celebrate, the Royal Mint has created a collection of commemorative £5 coins to honor the Sapphire Jubilee. Each is engraved with a quote from the speech she gave on her 21st birthday while on a family tour of South Africa in 1947, when she was still just a princess: "My whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service."

This Haunting Justin Timberlake Dance Tribute Will Have You Crying a River of Tears

Acclaimed choreographer Andrew Winghart paid the ultimate tribute to Justin Timberlake on Tuesday, which marked the singer's 36th birthday. He released a dance short inspired by Justin's iconic 2002 hit "Cry Me a River," performed by 37 professional dancers; the featured male, George Lawrence II, along with a group of 36 females - a "forceful river of women" - combine to illustrate "his emotional journey echoing his indifference at having a broken heart."

Explaining his inspiration for the short, Andrew said, "I stumbled upon the song through my iTunes shuffle and was instantly captivated by memories of loving this piece as an 11-year-old. I was struck by how modern and timeless the song felt and knew right away I wanted to choreograph a tribute piece that did the song justice through dance." Watch the stunning video above now.

Is Dry Brushing the Must-Do Wellness Routine?

Have you tried dry brushing? This trendy wellness practice is not new, but major claims about its potential impact on your well-being (with medical terms like "lymphatic system" and "circulation") have many of us scratching our heads, wondering if scratching our skin will have a real effect on our health.

If you've yet to hear of the concept, we're breaking it down and going over some of the purported claims to see if dry brushing's benefits hold any water.

What Is Dry Brushing?

The wellness practice of using a brush with firm bristles on your dry skin to exfoliate and improve your health.

How Do You Do It?

Using a firm-bristled brush, make short strokes along dry skin (NOT wet!), upward toward your heart. You can brush all the skin on your body, save for cuts and scabs, your face, and your nether regions (ow x100).

Claimed Benefits

  • Detoxifying. Some wellness sites (and proponents of dry brushing) claim that it stimulates the lymphatic system to rid the body of toxins and invader cells through lymph flow, drainage, and the increased production of lymphocytes (fighter cells) in the lymphatic tissue.
  • Immunity-boosting. The lymphatic stimulation might also help fight infections and keep you healthier.
  • Metabolism-boosting. It may stimulate the circulatory system, bringing fresh blood to your skin and also upping your metabolism.
  • Stress-reducing. Dry brushing feels nice, so it can reduce stress, improve mood, and increase your overall well-being. Its psychological effects are similar to those of a relaxing massage.

Is There Science Backing It?

Western medicine has yet to prove much around the validity of dry brushing - in fact, some sites have even debunked its abilities to actually detox anything. Even natural wellness doctors like Andrew Weil, MD, say "the body does a pretty good job of cleansing and purifying itself," and that you don't need to use dry brushing to eliminate toxins. However, Dr. Weil also mentioned that "if you enjoy it and believe it benefits you, there's no reason not to do it."

The University of Maryland Medical Center cites dry brushing as a treatment for edema, which is swelling and fluid retention, so if you're feeling puffy and want to stimulate drainage, there's some medical backup here.

Should You Try It?

Here's the thing - unless you're dry brushing so much that your skin is raw, there's no adverse side effect to dry brushing. If it feels good to you and makes you happy, then it's an excellent way to exfoliate your skin and care for the largest organ in your body. It might be a real mood booster and anxiety reliever, and if that's something you struggle with, then by all means, give this wellness practice a go.

As for whether or not you'll experience effects from potential lymphatic drainage and increased circulation, you'll have to see for yourself.

The Reason School Lunches Were Confiscated From Children Has Parents Infuriated

Even though these parents took the time to pack their children lunches and snacks for school, their kids were left without food.

Parents in Durham, Ontario, are sharing stories of how teachers are taking away snacks and lunches from children that they deem to be unhealthy. According to The Star, the foods being discouraged vary depending on classroom and school but include "Goldfish crackers, Bear Paws cookies, granola bars, string cheese, Jello, juice boxes, pudding cups, gummy fruit snacks, raisins, Animal Crackers, chocolate milk and Sun Chips."

However, Durham District School Board Superintendent Luigia Ayotte said in a statement that there is no official list of banned foods. "We understand there may have been some issues with regard to certain foods students bring for snacks and lunches, but food preferences and choice remain with students and parents unless they pose an adverse allergic danger to other students," she said.

Yet 30 local parents have shared their troubling stories. While many understand the allergy risk of certain foods, they don't believe their child should be singled out for the food choices that are in their lunchboxes or backpacks that don't pose any allergy threat.

Last year, Elaina Daoust sent her picky eater to school with a small piece of banana bread for his morning snack. However, the junior kindergartner was told that he couldn't eat it because it contained chocolate chips. "He came home with a chart (listing healthy snack ideas) and told me he and the teacher talked about it and healthy choices. She also sent a note to me. I was really, really, really mad for several reasons," Daoust told The Star. This mom said she purposefully picked that snack because teachers discouraged homemade treats, it was labeled nut-free, and she assumed it was safe for school.

Avani Chaudhary also experienced this issue when she sent her daughter and son to school with Goldfish crackers and chocolate chip granola bars. Her second grader was told that these aren't "welcome snacks," while her kindergartner didn't have any issues. "It's basically the teacher's opinion," Avani said. "Is a muffin healthier than a granola bar? Maybe, maybe not. It depends what is in them. Is the teacher qualified to make these decisions? It should be up to the parents."

For one little girl, her lunch was withheld and sent home because it contained pizza outside of the designated pizza days or chocolate chip granola bars that were viewed as unhealthy. "I felt it was more unhealthy for a child not to eat at all, than to eat a granola bar with chocolate," said the child's mother, Janae Brangman.

Why Panera Put Peanut Butter on a Grilled Cheese Sandwich For a Child With Severe Allergies

One family is suing Panera Bread claiming that despite multiple warnings about their daughter's allergy, the little girl was given a meal that could have killed her.

The Boston family claims that their highly allergic 6-year-old daughter was served a grilled cheese sandwich complete with two scoops of peanut butter. In the lawsuit, her parents, John and Elissa Russo, state that their daughter was hospitalized overnight after biting into the sandwich.

According to her mom, the sandwich was ordered online, in which she specifically referenced her daughter's peanut allergy twice within the form. By the time anyone realized the extra ingredient had been added to the sandwich, the child had already bitten into it. They family says that she began to vomit and broke out in hives later that evening.

"Is this somebody doing this on purpose?" John later asked a manager. "Because it's two freakin' tablespoons of peanut butter on this sandwich, and it's a grilled cheese."

The manager reportedly apologized to him but blamed the mistake on a "language" issue. However, this explanation that an employee with limited English could have seen the note about "peanut" as a request to add it to the grilled cheese rather than to keep it away from the meal is "no excuse" to John. It didn't seem reasonable to the father because he looked up "allergy" in Spanish and Portuguese – the language the workers in question spoke – and realized how similar the translation (alergia) is to the English version.

"Panera takes the issue of food allergens, including the reported incident at our franchise bakery-cafe, very seriously," a spokesman said in an email to the Huffington Post. "We have procedures in place across the company to minimize exposure and risk for our guests and associates. We do not comment on pending litigation."

According to John, the family didn't plan to take legal actions until discovering that another child with peanut allergies was also served a grilled cheese with peanut butter after ordering the sandwich online less than a month after his daughter's episode. This child also went into an anaphylactic reaction and was hospitalized. While the two situations happened at different locations, the same franchise group owns both Paneras.

Why a 7-Year-Old Girl Got in Trouble For Writing Her Name in Cursive

When a teacher reprimands a student, you can safely assume the kid in question did something wrong. Maybe she pushed a classmate in line, or perhaps he called out an answer without raising his hand. Or maybe she wrote her name in cursive.

After turning in a homework assignment focusing on vowels, a 7-year-old girl named Alyssa received some harsh words from her teacher. In red pen at the top of the lesson sheet, her teacher wrote:

Stop writing your name in cursive. You have had several warnings.

Turns out, Alyssa's mom - based in Kansas - had taken the time to teach her daughter to write in cursive and likely never imagined she'd get in trouble for it. After the photo was shared by a friend on Facebook, commenters were outraged, like one who said, "Best of luck to any teacher who writes this on my children's papers!"

We're not sure what this particular teacher's philosophy is on cursive handwriting, but it's a skill still taught in most elementary schools, despite rumblings that there's less need for it with the ubiquitous nature of keyboards and digital communication. And there's good reason all children should learn cursive penmanship:

  • Studies show that printing letters and writing in cursive use different parts of the brain, with the latter helping to develop a child's fine motor skills. Not only that, in one study, people who wrote in cursive showed more brain activity than those who printed or typed - and they also generated more words and ideas.
  • Kids who learn cursive have been seen to score higher on reading and spelling tests and have a better ability to retain information.
  • Some people with learning disabilities, like dyslexia, or severe brain injuries can understand cursive better than print.
  • There are plenty of important historical documents that are written in cursive, and children who can't decipher cursive words won't be able to read them. It'd be as if the Declaration of Independence was written in another language.
  • As infrequently as adults need to write in cursive these days, they still need to sign plenty of paperwork, from lease agreements to marriage certificates to receipts.

Parents Share Heartbreaking Warning After Their 11-Year-Old's Deadly Allergic Reaction

When 11-year-old Oakley Debbs ate a piece of cake over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend last November, his family had no idea that it had the potential to kill him.

Oakley had a peanut allergy and when he realized his mistake, his family was alarmed but gave him Benadryl, which seemed to do the trick. His mom, Merrill, explained to WMTW that the allergy medicine had always worked in the past after an accidental consumption of nuts. She also shared that he felt "great" for the rest of the evening after taking the medicine. However, his condition took a drastic turn later that night and he went from playing with cousins and his twin sister to vomiting. Within minutes the child could no longer breathe.

"He was blue," Merrill said. "He was unconscious. My husband was holding him. He basically was gone." Four days later, Oakley died in the hospital and his parents are now speaking out to hopefully prevent other families from enduring the same tragedy.

The family shared their remorse for not knowing how dangerous their son's allergy really was and explained that if they had known, they would have taken immediate action. According to the family, they always thought Oakley's asthma was a much bigger threat and focused on that condition because they weren't aware of the severity of his allergy. "There was always an asthma plan. We didn't really have a defined nut plan which we're finding out needs to be really defined," Oakley's dad Robert said.

On the day of their son's death, Oakley's family started the Red Sneakers Foundation in honor of his favorite shoes. This organization was created to help raise awareness for food allergies as well as change labels on food packaging. "If someone wrote, 'Contains nuts, may kill you,' like cigarettes or something, people would understand it," Robert said.

6 Theories About The Vampire Diaries Finale That Will Either Make You or Destroy You

Warning: potential series finale spoilers ahead!

The Vampire Diaries finale is quickly approaching, and we're getting even more anxious about how the series will come to a close. Even though we can finally rest assured that Nina Dobrev will be back, there are still a lot of lingering questions out in the open. Will Caroline and Stefan finally tie the knot? Will Bonnie become a vampire? And who will Elena end up with? As each episode gets even more complicated than the last, fans have been going crazy on social media posting theories. If you can't stand the wait or you just don't mind knowing the ending, keep reading for the most compelling theories below.

Stefan and Caroline Get Married

After teasing Steroline's wedding during Comic-Con, a few fans are dead-set on proving that the duo is tying the knot in the finale. Not only did one fan post a bulletin from their possible ceremony on social media, but Kat Graham was also spotted wearing what appears to be a bridesmaid dress. To add fuel to the rumor, Ian Somerhalder even posted a selfie of him and Paul Wesley in matching black tuxes with Candice King behind them in the background. Perhaps she was hiding Caroline's wedding dress?

Stefan Becomes a Human

Recently, Wesley has been filming scenes with a bandage on his hand, which a vampire definitely wouldn't need since they heal instantaneously. He was even spotted without his daylight ring during a scene with Graham. While it definitely seems out of left field for Stefan to become human, it's not completely far-fetched. Out of all the vampires, Stefan has probably had the hardest time dealing with his blood lust. (Hello, he's a ripper!) Maybe, in an effort to be a good parental figure for Caroline's twins, he takes the cure to ensure they will have a normal life. Well, as normal as twin witches with a vampire mom can be.

Bonnie Becomes a Vampire

It's been hinted at this whole season. Now that Bonnie has fallen in love with an immortal vampire, it makes sense that she would turn as well. And it's not like she has powers as a witch anymore. The only problem, though, is that her life is still tied to Elena's. Since Kai explicitly said no loopholes, she doesn't want jeopardize the chance that Elena would never wake up. As always, Bonnie is putting everyone else before herself.

Enzo Takes the Cure

Of course, the perfect alternative for Bonnie and Enzo's star-crossed romance would be for him to take the cure. Think about it. This could ensure that the two live a happy and human life together, and when they both kick the bucket, Elena will wake up and Damon can take the cure. Everyone lives happily ever after, right?

Damon Dies and Elena Wakes Up

Don't get too ahead of yourselves, Delena shippers. In what might be one of the most heartbreaking theories out there, some fans have said that Damon is actually killed off in the finale. Apparently, Kai comes back for the last few episodes and seeks revenge on Damon for killing him. After he bites the dust, he proceeds to wake Elena up from her sleeping curse. Julie Plec did say that one of the final scenes would break our hearts. Could she have been teasing the end of Delena?

Stefan and Elena End Up Together

If you're a Stelena fan, then you better hold onto your seat. After Kevin Williamson posted a picture of Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley on set, some fans are left wondering if there will actually be a Stefan and Elena reunion in the finale. It would definitely explain why the episode is titled "I Was Feeling Epic," after Lexi's famous line to Stefan about Elena.

Alicia Keys Offers Words of Wisdom For Young Girls - but Grown Women Can Benefit, Too

Alicia Keys was photographed for the March cover of Glamour at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn. She was joined by a group of young women from The Lower Eastside Girls Club, beneficiaries of the magazine's philanthropic initiative The Girl Project - and in addition to opening up about her year-long journey going without makeup, the 15-time Grammy winner and mom of three also shared words of wisdom and empowerment that young girls and grown women alike can benefit from. When asked what she would tell her younger self, Alicia responded with a powerful, sincere message:

"There is this fallacy about how women are catty, that we're all in competition with each other. I'd say: As opposed to getting swept up in jealousy, use that pang to give you an indication of what you are looking for. Actually, there is this awesome performer Lilly Singh who always does this thing: 'Shout out another girl and tell her what you love about her.' Even doing that is such a good practice, I don't know if we tell women great news about themselves enough. You'd be surprised how often a young woman doesn't hear positive things about herself - not in her home, not at school. It's hard to create a beautiful image for yourself when you've never seen it or heard it."

Hear, hear!
