This Preschool Called 1 Mom Out For Giving Her Child a Piece of Chocolate
When one mom opened up her child's lunch box after a day at preschool, she found an unexpected surprise.
The Australian mom discovered a note from her child's teacher scolding her food choices. According to the note, the mom of eight included a sweet treat for her 3-year-old and they would prefer her not to do it again. "Your child has a chocolate slice from the Red Food category today. Please choose healthier options for Kindy," the note said, complete with a frowning face.
Although encouraging healthy eating habits and balanced meals for kids are important, people had mixed feelings on how the preschool went about it. "I told [my friend] to put in two slices tomorrow and tell them to get lost," Melinda Reist captioned a photo of the note after her friend shared it on Facebook.
Other parents are commenting that they received similar notes including some scolding them for packing food like chocolate Teddy Grahams (but not the honey or plain versions) and a jam sandwich. Do you think this school's tactics is singling kids out and making them feel like they've done something wrong or is it simply encouraging healthy food at school?

The Insane Connection Between Split and M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable
Warning: Spoilers below!
Split is M. Night Shyamalan's latest horror-thriller, and if you've seen the movie, you undoubtedly have some questions about the ending. I'm not talking about how the actual story concludes - I'm talking about the last minute or so, when we get an unexpected cameo. We see Shyamalan earlier in the film, but this appearance is even better.
The movie has all but concluded when we see patrons of a diner fixated on a news broadcast. Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy) has been found and the reporter is talking about the case, saying that outlets have already started calling the killer by a nickname: The Hoard, due to his many personalities. A woman at the counter says, "That guy who got locked up 15 years ago, they gave him a funny name too." The camera pans down the counter to a man dressed in a jumpsuit with a tag marked "DUNN." He simply says: "Mr. Glass." It's Bruce Willis!
Willis, of course, was the star of Shyamalan's 2001 movie Unbreakable. He played David Dunn, a man who essentially cannot be injured. He starts to investigate the limits of his capabilities after walking away from a horrific train crash completely unscathed. With the help of Elijah (Samuel L. Jackson), he discovers that not only is he invincible (except when it comes to water, his only weakness), he can sense crimes that other people have perpetrated just by being near them. Eventually he discovers that Elijah is the one who caused the train wreck, and he has committed several acts of terrorism in the name of finding someone with David's powers. David turns Elijah in, and the press deems him "Mr. Glass," because he has a condition named osteogenesis imperfecta, which renders his bones incredibly fragile.
The connection is surprising, but maybe it shouldn't be. Shyamalan has talked about wanting to do a sequel, telling Entertainment Weekly: "People have approached me about continuing the story, but the idea of doing a traditional sequel doesn't inspire me. It has to be organic and has to come from the right place - otherwise it'll smell of artificiality. But it's fascinating how much it's stuck around. I do think about it a lot."
Does this mean Split is the sequel to Unbreakable? Is James McAvoy's "Beast" a pseudo-realistic villain in the same vein as Mr. Glass? And does this mean it's up to David Dunn to find him and stop him? Would that be the third movie in a trilogy?
6 Places Kate Middleton Lived Before Becoming a Princess
Kate Middleton hasn't always resided in a 10-bedroom country estate or 21-room apartment at Kensington Palace. Long before meeting and marrying Prince William, Kate was just a regular girl who moved around with her family, studied abroad, lived in college dorms, and even shared a flat with her little sister. Here are all the places Kate lived before her life became a royal one.
- Berkshire, England: Kate was born to parents Michael and Carole Middleton at the ironically named Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The upper-middle-class family lived in a modest, brick Victorian "with a cramped kitchen" in Bradfield Southend. They later purchased at Oak Acre, a five-bedroom Tudor-style country house in nearby Bucklebury, Berkshire.
- Amman, Jordan: While working as a flight dispatcher for British Airways, Michael and his family were relocated to Jordan. Kate lived there from 1984 to 1987.
- Wiltshire, England: Kate studied at Marlborough College, a coed boarding school, in 1996.
- Florence, Italy: After finishing her studies at Marlborough, 18-year-old Kate headed to Florence to study Italian and art history. She completed a three-month course at the British Institute of Florence in Palazzo dello Strozzino.
- Fife, Scotland: In 2001, Kate moved to Scotland to study at the University of St. Andrews and lived in three areas of on-campus student housing. It was at one of them, St Salvator's Hall, that she met Prince William. She went on to graduate with a master's degree in art history.
- London, England: Postcollege, Kate accepted a position as an accessory buyer with British retailer Jigsaw and moved into a flat in London's exclusive Chelsea neighborhood with her sister Pippa; Carole and Michael Middleton purchased the apartment in 2002 for all three of their children to live in. Pippa continued to reside there with their brother James well after Kate married Will and moved to a four-bedroom farmhouse on the Welsh island of Anglesey.
2017 Will Be Extra Exciting For These Pregnant Stars
We're all hoping for good things in 2017, but some stars are expecting more than just success and happiness - they're also expecting babies. Beyoncé announced her pregnancy - with twins - in February, and she joins a crop of other stars with buns in the oven. From first-time moms like Lauren Conrad and Amanda Seyfried to stars like Natalie Portman and Ciara, who are on their second bundles of joy, it's going to be a pretty fun year.
9 Things That Will Happen When Once Upon a Time Returns
Once Upon a Time is officially on Winter hiatus, but we're craving more. Even though new episodes won't air until March 5, we already have a few tidbits about the second half of the season. While the final minutes of the midseason finale certainly set the tone for our favorite characters, the show's creators, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, have also revealed a few upcoming plot points. As you patiently wait for the weeks to pass, familiarize yourself with the few details we have so far.
Billy Crystal and Daniel Stern Just Gave Us the Gift of a Westworld/City Slickers Parody
Have you ever noticed how alike the plots are for City Slickers and Westworld? I mean, sure, there are no robot "hosts" in City Slickers, and the 1991 comedy has a lot less death, nudity, and violence, but at their cores, both films are about people trying to escape their daily lives by experiencing the Wild West. Billy Crystal and Daniel Stern teamed up with Funny or Die to bring the show and the film together, and it's pretty funny, especially if you are old enough to, you know, have seen City Slickers.
Fifty Shades Darker: All the Pictures You Need to Get Your Fix Until the Release
After months of pained anticipation, we've finally seen even more of Fifty Shades Darker, the next installment in the mysterious story of Christian Grey. We got to watch the very sexy new trailer, which included Taylor Swift and Zayn's catchy new duet, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever." That's not all, though. A NSFW clip of Ana and Christian has since dropped, and we have a handful of stills from the new film. Maybe this will be enough to quench our thirst until the release.
Weeks After Starting Her New Job, 1 Young Nanny Gave This Toddler a Priceless Gift
Even though 16-month-old Talia isn't Kiersten Miles' child, learning about the baby's life-threatening condition was still extremely difficult for her.
Last year, Talia's parents, George and Farra Rosko, discovered that their child was suffering from biliary atresia, which is a serious liver disease, and prepared themselves for a long wait on the organ donation list. However, instead of enduring months or years of uncertainty, Talia's donation came from an unexpected source in a matter of weeks.
When 22-year-old Kiersten joined the New Jersey family as their nanny, she quickly began researching the girl's life-threatening condition. Although she had just started this new job, the young woman offered to donate part of her own liver to help the child she was caring for.
"I believe I was meant to meet the Roskos. Even though I had only known Talia for three weeks when I decided I wanted to see if I was [a] match, I knew I couldn't do nothing," Kiersten told Baby. "I knew I was a blood match and after doing research the rest of the process and the surgery didn't seem that intense … it just seemed and still seems like such a small sacrifice compared to saving a life."
On the day of the surgeries, doctors replaced Talia's liver with a piece of her nanny's organ with the hope that it will continue to grow in the child's body. "When I finally got to see Talia, I completely forgot about the discomfort and pain I had recently felt and was immediately reminded why I donated," Kiersten said.

Who's Ready to See Ansel Elgort and His Girlfriend Having Sexy Bath Time?
Have you been missing Ansel Elgort lately? Did you see this headline and think to yourself, "Hey, I haven't heard about that guy in a while"? Well, there are a couple of reasons for that. Elgort has mostly flown under the radar since 2014's The Fault in Our Stars, continuing to appear as Caleb in the Divergent franchise (did you even see Allegiant?) and filming movies that are set to be released in 2017. But before we get to see him in Billionaire Boys Club or Baby Driver, he's graced us with a music video for his new song, "Thief." The sultry video also features his real-life girlfriend, Violetta Komyshan, but it mostly showcases close-ups on Elgort's face. While Elgort has a thriving side career as a DJ (under the name Ansolo), I have to admit I didn't see this video coming - but it is everything I could have hoped for.
This Baby Will Only Stop Crying When She Sees a Glass of Red Wine - and We Can Totally Relate
It's no secret that little kids are quick to pick up on their parents' behaviors, and this adorable little girl has realized early on that a glass of red wine can assuage just about any problem or temper tantrum. Rafael Aybar posted a hilarious video of his daughter crying and shaking her head with everything he puts in front of her, that is, until she's greeted with his glass of wine.
She pushes away her bottle of milk, shakes her head no for a plate of pasta, strongly rejects her pacifier, but the second her dad puts down a glass of red wine she immediately starts laughing and smiling like never before! She of course did not drink the wine, but the smile on her face proves that sometimes, wine can brighten just about anyone's mood.

We Need to Talk About the Dress Emma Stone Wears in La La Land
La La Land took home best picture at the Critics' Choice Awards, but if you need another special reason to see the film, perhaps this style tidbit will do: Emma Stone's signature dancing dress was selected for a reason. Emma plays Mia in the movie, and though she partakes in plenty of dancing acts, the one set in front of a lit-up Los Angeles seems especially romantic. Costume designer Mary Zophres spoke to Fashionista about her wardrobe choice for the scene, explaining that she was inspired by an Atelier Versace gown Emma wore to promote The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014:
"It's stunning on Emma and I pitched [that color] to [director Damien Chazelle] for that sequence. We had our first fitting and Emma started spinning around in this dress. She loved it. I loved it. She and I thought at the same time, 'Why don't we just use this fabric?'"
After hiring Rob Phillips to hand-paint florals onto the fit-and-flare, the look was just as flattering as Zophres imagined it. Read on to see the La La Land costume once more, then check out the red carpet number that inspired it, along with more of Emma's recent appearances in yellow. One thing's for sure: regardless of the silhouette or occasion, Emma looks downright gorgeous in the shade - the same goes for her new character, Mia.
Nordstrom Dumps Ivanka Trump Brand - but Not For the Reason You Think
In the days since President Donald Trump has taken office, several brands like Apple and Starbucks have come forward announcing their disapproval of his policies. However, Nordstrom has insisted that unhappiness with Trump's policies was not the reason they've parted ways with the Ivanka Trump fashion line. According to an interview with WWD, a spokesperson from Nordstrom reported the brand was performing poorly.
"This was a decision made entirely based on brand performance. We've said all along we make buying decisions based on performance. We've got thousands of brands – more than 2,000 offered on the site alone. Reviewing their merit and making edits is part of the regular rhythm of our business . . . In this case, based on the brand's performance we've decided not to buy it for this season."
Ivanka took a leave of absence from her company right before her father's inauguration to prevent criticism of potential conflicts of interest as her family headed to Washington. When Ivanka launched her line in 2011, Nordstrom was a vital part of the success of the brand. Since Donald Trump was sworn into office, many women began to boycott the brand, which likely contributed to its lack of sales at the department store.
7 Fast Facts About Hulu's New Adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale
Are you heavily invested in the bleakest shows on television? Have you stuck with it through all the seasons of AMC's ultraviolent The Walking Dead and HBO's death-riddled Game of Thrones? If you answered yes, then chances are Hulu's new original series The Handmaid's Tale is right up your alley. Information on the dramatic new series has been pretty sparse until now, but with just a few months until its release, we figured there's no time like the present to go over everything we've learned so far. Join us as we cover the basics.
14 of the Most Highly Anticipated TV Shows of 2017
18 New Midseason TV Shows to Have on Your Radar in 2017
1. It's Based on a Book
First published in 1985, The Handmaid's Male is a dystopian novel by Margaret Atwood. It's considered a classic and has never gone out of print since its first publish date.
2. It's Got Some Pretty Heavy Subject Matter
So what is it about? The tale is set in the future, depicting a totalitarian regime in a post-United States New England; this settlement is called the Republic of Gilead. The narrative hinges on the oppression of women; they are not allowed to read, and main character Offred can only leave the house once a day to go to the local food market. Value in female characters is placed most emphatically on their ability to bear children, so Offred must lay down once a month and pray she gets pregnant. It's not long, though, before these women begin to discover their own agency in exciting and interesting ways.
3. The Cast Is Pretty Legit
Elisabeth Moss will portray lead character Offred, and she's got support from Alexis Bledel, Samira Wiley (Orange Is the New Black), Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter), and Joseph Fiennes.
4. This Isn't the First Adaptation
Hulu's not the first to attempt to bring The Handmaid's Tale to life. There's a 1990 film adaptation starring Natasha Richardson, Faye Dunaway, and Robert Duvall.
5. There's Already a Totally Bonkers Trailer
If all of the aforementioned tidbits weren't enough to get you excited, consider the first teaser trailer, which seems rich with drama and stunning visual imagery.
6. Plus, a Teaser Spot
It's Hulu's big Super Bowl spot.
7. It's Coming Very Soon
The Handmaid's Tale will be available on Hulu starting April 26.
Every Parents Needs to Read This Mom's Message About Rear-Facing Car Seats
With one graphic post-car-accident photo, Therese Gilbert is grabbing the attention of parents across the world.
This mom of three is passionate about car-seat safety and wants parents to understand what could happen if their toddlers are switched from a rear-facing car seat to a high-back booster seat too soon. "This is what a seat belt injury looks like on an adult - who was correctly secured in the car and had a frontal collision," she captioned the brutal photo on Facebook. "It looks very bad, doesn't it? This was an adult - imagine this type of an injury or worse on a child."
Therese blogs about car seat safety and came across this upsetting image while doing research for a post on extended use of rear-facing car seats. She explained that the difficult image shows trauma to the chest muscles and tissue as well as some minor lacerations to the neck from the seat belt burning into the skin on impact. She's hoping that this visual will serve as an important reminder to all parents. "Far too many jump to a HBB [high-back booster seat] the moment the child hits the minimum weight limit for example," she explained. "Turning forward-facing is not a milestone to look forward to. The differences in safety between forward facing and rear facing - are too great. Don't be in a hurry."
The concerned mom acknowledges that parents don't always have a choice, especially once their child has outgrown their current car seat, and isn't advising that children ever use a rear-facing car seat above the approved weight limit. "But when you have the option to rear-face your child - take it. And do it for as long as possible," she wrote.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children stay in rear-facing car seats as long as possible, at least until they are 2 years old. When a baby outgrows his or her infant seat, they should still sit in a rear-facing, convertible seat because it offers better protection to a child's head, neck, and spine during a car crash.

Kat Von D Just Teased a Mysterious, Insanely Sparkly Product and You Obviously Need It
We hadn't even caught our breath from the news that Kat Von D plans to release more shades of liquid lipstick when ANOTHER sneak peek caught our eye on the official brand's Instagram stories. There's something top secret on the horizon, and it involves serious rainbow glitter.
In a meeting with her product development team, Kat covered her arm in blinged-out swatches in shades of blue, pink, black, red, and gold, showing off the mysterious formula's intense sheen. Instagram posts from Nancy McGuire, the VP of Kat Von D product development, revealed even more angles of the upcoming product, but revealed no other clues.
It's not entirely clear what the product could be from the swatches, but there are two things we do know: it comes in a wide range of color options, and it is impossibly sparkly. It appears to be a liquid formula, but due to Kat Von D's high quality regarding pigmentation, it could actually be a powder, so who knows? Fans are speculating that it is a liquid eye shadow or eyeliner, but we think it's possible that this is an expansion of the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick range into a new glitter/metallic category. Whatever it is, we're excited for more news and more product! Stay tuned for updates as they become available, but in the meantime, keep reading to see the glitter in all of its glory.

For celebrities, sitting front row at Fashion Week is pretty much a given - but what happens when you find out that you're sitting alongside the Anna Wintour? Just in time for the start of Fashion Week, we're taking a look back at some of the stars who have been seated next to Anna during the shows.

Amal Clooney's Outfit Is Chic as Can Be - Until You Spot Her Sweater
It's possible Amal Clooney just found the answer to maintaining a sophisticated travel look. Slip into your leather skinnies, those velvet embroidered boots, and your luxe outerwear, but add one piece for comfort. When the stylish lawyer touched down at LAX with her husband, George, she seemed confident and carefree. We're sure that's thanks to the wool and cashmere jumper she's wearing. It's a top by Alberta Ferretti printed with the word "Sunday."
Who cares if it was a Friday? In Amal's world, it was just the start of the weekend, and her look spoke to the mood. Amal remembered all the essentials - that luxe beret, her Adam Lippes trench, and Bric's luggage included - but most importantly, her cozy sweater. Because no girl flies without one of those. Gigi Hadid Isn't the Only Fashion Influencer Protesting Trump's New Policy
Like so many others, the fashion crowd isn't putting up with Donald Trump's actions in his first weeks of presidency. After he signed an executive order to ban the US from taking in Syrian refugees and placed a temporary ban on immigration from Muslim countries, models, actresses, and style influencers reacted.
So many of the influencers we follow took to social media to voice their concerns. Emily Ratajkowski attended an airport protest at LAX, while Kerry Washington used her SAG Awards look to call for solidarity. No matter where we look, stars are taking a stance against President Trump's policies.
This isn't the first time he's ruffled Hollywood's feathers. From his election campaign to his comments about designers dressing his wife, Melania, the first family's often the center of controversy. Given the tense political climate so far, we expect even more fashion influencers to rally against Trump in the near future.
Karlie Kloss's 1-Piece Is the Anti-Baywatch Suit, but It's Just as Sexy
If you're going to wear a one-piece, you want it to be flattering. Just like any swimsuit, it should hug your curves, cinch your waist, and feature a high cut at the legs to make them appear long and lean. Obviously, Karlie Kloss doesn't need that background lesson. The supermodel has been spending time in Australia, and she took a break to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef.
For this occasion, Karlie packed a winner of a suit, a crisp white design with a low neckline and thin straps. Sorry to state the obvious, but if it had been red, the silhouette would've reminded us of that iconic Baywatch look. But Karlie's option is feminine and all the more chic. Read on for a look, then shop similar styles if you're headed to a heavenly vacation spot like Karlie.

Hailey chose a slinky silver slip, which she jazzed up with chandelier earrings and a thin choker and finished her outfit with black platform sneakers, masterfully crossing the laces around her ankles.
The bride also wore a champagne sheath with thin spaghetti straps and matched her groom in pristine-looking high-tops. The NFL's "Super Bowl Babies" Commercial Proves That Winning Cities Have More Sex
Yes, grown-ups often have sex when they're happy about something. Something like a promotion at work, a sunny day, or, say, their favorite team winning the Super Bowl. Emotions run high during the big game, so it's natural for that enthusiasm to spill over to the bedroom, but we bet you never thought about what happens nine months later, did you? Well, the NFL is thinking about it, and it's got what must be the cutest Super Bowl commercial to celebrate it!
"Super Bowl Babies Choir" is a parody of Seal's "Kiss From a Rose" that is scheduled to run at the end of the third quarter of Sunday's game. The ad features babies, kids, and adults (not to mention a cameo by Seal himself!) clad in the NFL jerseys of the team that is responsible for their birth nine months after their Super Bowl victories. The first group of babies to appear on the screen are New York Giants fans, all born nine months after the team's 2008 win.
The adorable tots croon, "What makes the Super Bowl so super? A day we adore. It is a day, so super, it's why we were born."
Cue the babies, now adults, who were born after the Dallas Cowboys's 1993 and 1994 back-to-back victories and hear, "And in the end, When our team won, Mom and Dad looked at each other, One thing led to another that night."
"We wanted to do something that stuck with the theme that also captured the excitement of the game," NFL chief marketing officer Dawn Hudson told ESPN, alluding to the league's "Football Is Family" campaign.
Yup, they certainly did capture the excitement of the night, in a way that we never thought about before! Watch the entire video above and sing along with the lyrics below. We'll be keeping our eyes on Colorado and North Carolina for a baby boom in about nine months!
"Super Bowl Babies" Lyrics
Ba dada da da da da da da, bada da
What makes the Super Bowl so super? A day we adore.
It is a day, so super, it's why we were born.
And in the end
When our team won
Mom and Dad looked at each other
One thing led to another that night
[We're all] Babies,
It all happened on the night that a Super Bowl was played, ooh
That's why we're here singing this sweet serenade
And now Super Bowl Fifty is here
There's so much reason for cheer tonight
Ever since we were in diapers, we've watched every game
Cheering so loud. We goo-goo'd. We ga-ga'd. We waaaaah'd
[babies crying]
Baby! We were all just little twinkles, twinkling in our daddy's eye
Til that Super Bowl Sunday night
And when at last
Nine months have passed
They welcome to the world, us newborn baby boys and girls
[We're all] Babies,
It all happened on the night that a Super Bowl was played, ooh
A day when history and our families were made
And now Super Bowl Fifty is here
So much reason for cheer tonight
We're all Super Bowl Babies, oh yeah
We're all Super Bowl Babies, oh yeah
When there were no more jalapeno-chili-bacon chicken wings
Mommy and dad, they cuddled. Canoodled. All night. Baby.
On that night our moms and dads were so filled with desire
[filled with desire]
Here we stand, a baby choir.
[We're all] Babies,
It all happened on the night that a Super Bowl was played, ooh
That's why we're here singing this sweet serenade
And now Super Bowl Fifty is here
So much reason for cheer tonight
Ba dada da da da da da da, bada da Ba dada da da da da da da, bada da
And now Super Bowl Fifty is here
So much reason for cheer tonight

15 GIFs That Perfectly Describe Your Relationship With Your Mom
Growing up with a Latina mom is a bit like growing up on a roller coaster - the best damn roller coaster ever.
I never really appreciated it until I moved to New York City at 18 and realized that, even though I might've thought otherwise as she made me sit through Mass every Sunday or threatened to smack me with her shoe, my mom is actually my best friend. She raised me on her own and still managed to age like she's Jennifer Lopez (that alone deserves major props, am I right?), but no one gets me like she does - and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
Is your mom your bestie, too? Keep reading for signs she most definitely is.

Ariana Grande and John Legend's "Beauty and the Beast" Duet Is the Stuff of Legends
Each Beauty and the Beast trailer has left us emotionally wrecked, but the final one may have been too much for us to handle. Why? Because we finally got to hear Ariana Grande and John Legend's cover of "Beauty and the Beast." You know the song, "Tale as old as time . . . " It's the ultimate ballad and they really do it justice. Kim Kardashian's Terrifying Robbery: A Timeline
This post has been updated with new information.
Kim Kardashian experienced her own (and everyone else's) worst nightmare on Oct. 2 when she was robbed and held at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room while in town for the Paris Fashion Week shows. Thankfully, the reality star survived the incident unscathed, although the details that continue to emerge about what happened to her are each more disturbing than the last. Here is everything that you need to know about the situation thus far:
- Kanye West ends his concert early due to a "family emergency." The rapper was in the midst of performing at the Meadows Festival in Queens, NY, on Oct. 2 when he stopped singing and apologized to the audience that he had to cut his set short because of a family emergency, shocking the crowd.
- News leaks that the family emergency in question is Kim being robbed in Paris. At around 3 a.m. in Paris, Kim was held hostage and robbed at gunpoint in her luxury apartment at the No Address Hotel - a private mansion where her husband has owned a space since 2011 - where she had been staying all week. Although popular with celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, the residence's only security measures are a receptionist at the door and "a nightman."
- Kim's representatives release a statement about the incident. "Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening by two armed masked men dressed as police officers," her reps told The Hollywood Reporter on Oct. 2. "She is badly shaken but physically unharmed."
- The French Interior Ministry speaks out. The security organization said that five men were involved; they wore ski masks and forced the concierge to give them access to Kim's private apartment, where two of the men then entered. After the robbery, the attackers fled on bicycles, and according to Us Weekly, officials believe the robbery was committed by a "highly organized" gang.
- The Paris prosecutor's office reveals how much Kim lost in the robbery. On the Today show, it was confirmed that the reality star's wedding ring (though not her engagement ring) and her jewelry box, worth over $10 million, were stolen. Two smartphones were also among the items lost.
- A source comes forward to shed chilling details about the nature of the robbery. According to one of E!'s sources, Kim was bound and gagged during the incident, before being handcuffed and threatened with a gun. "She begged for them to let her live and [said] she has babies at home. Then they wrapped her mouth in tape and put her in the bathtub," they said. "She thought they were for sure going to kill her."
- Kim leaves Paris aboard her private jet. TMZ reports that an understandably upset Kim left Paris in a hurry after what she called "the worst moment in my life."
- Kim lands safely in NYC. Though missing her wedding ring, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star landed safely in NYC on Monday morning, where she was spotted walking into her apartment building in Manhattan with Kanye by her side. Upon landing, she reportedly traveled with a security-heavy entourage of 10 vehicles and 15-20 bodyguards.
- A source says Kim has been worried about this for a long time. "This was one of Kim's biggest fears," a source told People, adding that she was hysterical while relaying the details of what happened to Kanye. "She's always known the threats are out there, but for something to happen, it's almost unimaginable. It's going to take her a very long time to feel safe again."
- A suspect is called in for questioning, while the apartment Kim was robbed in is investigated by forensic officers. Us Weekly discovered that a photographer had been obsessively following the Kardashians around Paris Fashion Week days earlier and was even able to get inside the restaurant they were dining in by dressing up as a policeman (the same method the thieves later used to gain access to her building). French police also have the residence surrounded and are thoroughly investigating the space for traces to nail the perpetrators with the help of a forensic officer.
- Kanye reschedules his tour dates. On Oct. 3, Live Nation released a statement on the singer's behalf, saying, "Due to family concerns, this week's Philadelphia and Detroit dates on the Saint Pablo tour have been rescheduled." The two shows will now take place on Dec. 13 and Dec. 22, respectively, and the tour will officially resume on Oct. 7.
- Kim feared she was going to be raped. "The reports of her fear of being raped are real," a source told People. "She really did think she was going to be raped. She had a gun to her head the whole time."
- Kim might have been followed while in Paris. Us Weekly reported that the perpetrators might have been tailing Kim all week dressed as a detective and a photographer. The Daily Mail also posted footage of an unidentified man driving a gray Fiat 500 weaving through traffic in an attempt to follow the car Kim was riding in after attending a fitting with Kanye and Kourtney. He reportedly followed them to a restaurant, where he was denied entrance to even after telling people there that he was a police officer, which lines up with allegations saying she was robbed by people dressed as law enforcement.
- Paris police search for a mysterious black limo. According to The Hollywood Reporter, police have recovered surveillance footage from a shoe store across the street from where Kim was staying, which shows a black limo with tinted windows circling the area around the time that she was robbed.
- Filming for Keeping Up With the Kardashians gets put on hold. On Oct. 6, news broke that the popular E! reality series has been placed "on hold indefinitely". New episodes from the 12th season that have already been filmed will resume on Oct. 23.
- The robbers may have chosen Kim as their target because of Kanye. It was revealed on Oct. 7 that after breaking into the apartment building, the men asked the concierge in French, "Where's the rapper's wife?" This could possibly mean that the suspects, who reportedly arrived and left the scene on bicycles, may not have known Kim by name, but rather through Kanye and his fame.
- The men knew what they were doing. A source told People that it was "a very well-coordinated robbery" and that they left essentially no DNA evidence.
- Kanye resumes his Saint Pablo Tour. On Oct. 7, the rapper returned to the stage in his hometown of Chicago and told the crowd, "It's good to be home." Kim was also spotted arriving back in LA earlier in the day.
- Kim's diamond cross necklace is found. After one of Kim's platinum-mounted jewelry pieces was found outside of her Paris hotel on Monday, Us Weekly reported that the robbers deliberately dropped the necklace in an attempt to con the police into thinking they were amateurs. The burglars reportedly set up a "double bluff" escape ruse in which one of the men fell off his bicycle, while another pretended to accidentally drop a piece of jewelry as they fled. Paris police told the publication, "They wanted us to believe that they were amateurs, but all the real clues point to them being extremely sophisticated professionals. There is no way a gang like this would drop stuff and fall off bicycles. All that was done for any cameras that might be in the area. It is far more likely that they played around on bikes for a few minutes after stealing the jewels and when they still had their masks on, before they all got into a van and disappeared."
- Kim is a no-show at the Keeping Up With the Kardashians season 12 wrap party. The Kardashian-Jenner family celebrated the end of the show's 12th season with a party on Oct.11, and naturally, the family shared photos from the event on Instagram. Noticeably missing from the pictures was Kim, who's been keeping a low profile since the robbery.
- Kim cancels her Las Vegas club appearance. On Oct. 12, E! News revealed that Kim had canceled her annual birthday appearance at Hakkasan nightclub in Las Vegas. A rep for the club told the news outlet, "Given recent circumstances, Kim Kardashian will be unable to make her previously scheduled appearance at Hakkasan Las Vegas Nightclub."
- Kim receives an apology from a website that claimed she lied about the robbery. After suing MediaTakeOut.com for saying Kim lied about her Paris incident, the site released an apology, stating, "We can understand how reports questioning if the robbery in fact took place can be hurtful, and so we apologize. No one deserves to go through such a traumatic experience. Kim is not just celebrity, she is a person, a wife and a mother - who in no way deserved what happened to her."
- Kim's assistant says the reality TV star is taking some time off. On Oct. 17, Stephanie Sheppard shared a handwritten letter on Kim's website announcing that "Keeks is taking some much needed time off." She continued, "But not to worry we've called upon Kim's closest friends, fam and yours truly to save up some exclusives. Stay tuned for new posts and app takeovers!! Thank you so much for your support for my girl. Love you mean it."
- Hotel de Pourtalès's concierge blames lack of security for the robbery. The concierge on duty during Kim's robbery, known only as Abdulrahman, opened up about the whole ordeal during an interview with the Daily Mail. "There was no real security at all," he said. "It's a choice. The hotel doesn't mind about security. We told them years and years before, you have to make a camera, you have to put [in place] a security process, about keys. Nothing was locked, there was no proper security there. Everyone knew it." He also said that even though he emailed his bosses about getting better security in 2010, the security codes had not been changed in six years and there were no functioning security cameras in place. Following the incident, Abdulrahman said that he plans to take legal action against the hotel.
- The hotel concierge reveals more horrifying details about Kim's robbery. During an interview with the Daily Mail, Abdulrahman revealed that he was forced to unlock the door to Kim's room with a spare key and he was there with the star when she was robbed. While Kim pleaded with the robbers to spare her life, Abdulrahman said he tried his best to keep her calm. "She began to scream again," he said. "That's why he put the tape on her mouth. A long piece of tape, all the way round her head." He added that the robbers left right away when they saw that Kim's bodyguard was calling her phone.
- Kourtney breaks her silence on Kim's terrifying robbery. During a video interview with Australia's Today Extra on Oct. 19, Kourtney opened up about how Kim is doing, revealing, "She's not doing great. I think we're all really still shaken up and I just - you know, I think she has a big, supportive family and I know that all the traumatic things that we've been through, we get through them together as a family, and that's what family's all about."
- Security footage of Kim's robbers surfaces. The five alleged robbers were captured on video by street-side cameras obtained by France's M6 news as they made their getaway on bicycles and foot. They are seen approaching the hotel at 2:19 a.m. and leaving 49 minutes later. According to M6 news, Paris police currently have no leads on their identities.
- The hotel concierge reveals that the robbers weren't after jewels. During an interview with ET, Abdulrahman reveals that the robbers continued to demand money even after taking Kim's wedding ring. "She believed that they were there for her ring," he explained. "She showed her hand . . . there is no ring, and the guy is like, 'Where is the ring?' At that moment she gave him her ring -- it was on a table close to the floor -- she gave her ring to the guy ... and he put it in his pocket. For him, it was just a ring, I think ... he didn't stop asking for money. They weren't there for jewels at first, they were there for money."
- Kim returns to social media and then deletes her posts. On Oct. 31, the reality star shared three posts on Facebook before quickly deleting them all. An Us Weekly insider adds that the posts were actually an error. "She's still figuring out when is the right time for her to come back."
- Kim and Kanye fire their longtime bodyguard. Entertainment Tonight reports that the power couple has terminated their relationship with bodyguard Pascal Duvier. Pascal first came in contact with the family when he started working with Kanye in 2012, and a year later he began working with Kim. A source told ET that "Pascal, along with a couple other security members of their team, were recently let go by Kim and Kanye. It's a pretty tough situation overall and they love Pascal, but they couldn't take any more chances."
- Police arrest suspects who may be connected to her robbery. According to French magazine Le Monde, authorities arrested 14 men and three women. A source tells E! News that a man named Pierre, the alleged ringleader of the heist, was arrested after officers broke down the gate of his villa in Plascassier in the South of France. Several suspects are reportedly still being held for questioning in France.
- Kim's limo driver is released without criminal charges. TMZ and other French outlets report that the limo driver who chauffeured Kim in Paris, Michael Madar, was released from police custody on Jan. 10 without criminal charges. The private luxury limousine company also told TMZ that he was only brought in for "testimony purposes only" and had nothing to do with the actual crime.
- Four suspects are charged with the robbery. Of the initial suspects French police arrested, four have been formally charged with the crime, including the 27-year-old brother of the limo driver Kim used while visiting Paris. The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed to NBC News that he has been released by the judge investigating the robbery, but must check in regularly with the authorities and remain under judicial control. The three other men are in provisional detainment, and the rest of the remaining suspects will face a decision on Jan. 13.
- Kim's police statement is released. On Jan. 15, French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche published Kim's police statement, which was reportedly given to authorities less than two hours after her robbery. Her statement reads as follows:
I heard a noise at the door, like, footsteps, and I shouted to ask who was there, but no one answered. I called my bodyguard at 2:56 a.m. Then, beyond the sliding doors, I saw two people arrive with the gentleman from reception, and he was tied up. Both men were hooded, one had a ski mask and he had a cap and a jacket with "police" on it. The second man had the same "police" clothes, but did not have any ski mask . . . It was the one with the ski mask who stayed with me. He had a strong French accent and asked me for my ring [in English]. He looked at what was on the bedside table. It was worth $4 million. He took out a gun and I showed him the ring. He had gloves. He asked me where the jewels and the money were, and at that point, they tied me up and put plastic cables and scotch tape on my hands, and then taped my mouth and my legs. During the theft, they had the hotel's mobile phone that did not stop ringing, and they spoke in French. I got the impression they were saying they had to leave.
- Kim testifies for her robbery case. On Feb. 2, Kim spent the day with French authorities in NYC as they investigated her Paris heist. The day before, she also met with a French judge and attorneys.
