Apple's New Commercial With Mary J. Blige and Hillary Clinton Is Pretty Awkward

When Apple releases new ads, they are usually inspiring or beautiful, touching videos. That's not the case in the latest ad for an Apple Music show with Mary J. Blige and Hillary Clinton. It's a little awkward to watch, and the internet agrees.

The first ad, which was tweeted out by Apple Music on Sept. 26, is to promote a new show coming to Apple Music on Sept. 30 called The 411 With Mary J. Blige. The video shows Blige singing to Clinton about police brutality and race. The snippet of the song is powerful, with lines like "It ain't no secret, no secret my friend you can get killed for living in your American skin." However, in the video, Blige grabs Clinton's hand as she sings, and it feels odd to see it happen out of context of the interview. Watch it below.

Do you feel weird? Awkward? You're not the only one, and the rest of the internet had plenty to say about it.

The second ad is a little better, as it shows Blige asking Clinton some poignant questions. Watch it for yourself below.

In any case, we can all find out more about what actually happens in the interview on Sept. 30 - if you have an Apple Music subscription.
