Despite stories of social media taking down birth photos and countless brelfies over the year, 2016 was also filled with certain powerful images of women nursing that made a lasting impact. Whether these mamas were pumping in public to prove a point, showing off an intimate moment between mother and child, or shared their nursing account in order to highlight unfair treatment, all of these photos helped to normalize breastfeeding. The more people see woman pumping and nursing, whether it's during a half marathon or while multitasking at work, the less taboo the topic will be.
