» McDonald's Releases New Garlic Fries - but There's a Catch
McDonald's recently tested chocolate fries - that choice may have been questionable, but the new garlic fries that the burger chain has released sound on point. The fast food giant announced in a press release that it has rolled out the new garlic fries in four select locations in the South Bay of San Francisco.
To incorporate locally sourced ingredients, McDonald's is enhancing its signature french fries with garlic that is grown about 80 miles south of San Francisco in Gilroy, CA, named "The Garlic Capital of the World." McDonald's Gilroy Garlic Fries are made to order and tossed in chopped Gilroy garlic and olive oil, parsley, parmesan cheese, and a little salt. It sounds pretty amazing.
According to Nick Vergis, McDonald's co-op president of the San Francisco Bay Area, the customer response "has been very positive." If the new item continues to receive praise, it'll be available in August at almost 250 chains in the Bay Area. We're guessing (and hoping) that these garlic fries will become widespread, just as we're crossing our fingers that McDonald's sweet potato french fries make their way to a location near us soon.
