Donald Glover's Shout-Out to His Son at the Globes Is Incredibly Moving
Donald Glover had one hell of a night while attending the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. After his hit show, Atlanta, took home the award for best comedy series, the actor also won the award for best actor in a musical or comedy series for his role on the show. Glover thanked his costars, calling them "beautiful people and my best friends," and also gave his son a sweet shout-out (he welcomed his first child in October). "I grew up in a house where magic wasn't allowed," he said. "So everybody in here is magical to me. Every time I saw a movie, I realized that magic is from people. We're the ones who kind of, in a weird way, lie to children so they do stuff they never thought was possible. I want to say thank you to my son and the mother of my son for making me believe in people again."
