Find Out Where You Can Try These Totoro Cream Puffs - They're ALMOST Too Cute to Eat

Instagram has given us a fair share of things that are almost too cute to eat, but one bakery and cafe in Tokyo has given the phrase a whole new meaning with Totoro-inspired cream puffs. Founded by the sister-in-law of legendary Studio Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki, Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory is filled with plenty of references to his iconic films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Spirited Away.

While the bakery is located away from the bustle of the Tokyo city center in a quiet residential area, locals and tourists alike purport that it's worth the trek. Depending on the time of year, Shirohige's offers a variety of cream puff flavors: matcha, strawberry, chocolate, custard, peach, red bean, caramel banana, vanilla, and chestnut are just a few of the rotating cream flavors, with each filling indicated by a different adornment atop the Totoro puff's head.

If cream puffs aren't your thing, don't worry - the cafe also offers Miyazaki-inspired butter cookies, a variety of coffee and tea concoctions, and more. Plus, the entire establishment is located in a house that looks like something straight out of a Studio Ghibli movie; we wouldn't be surprised to see Mei and Satsuki chasing dust mites around in the attic.

Scroll on for pictures of the restaurant, the cream puffs, and more . . . then add Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory to your ever-growing Studio Ghibli bucket list. Now, where can we catch the Catbus to Tokyo?
