In Just 4 Tweets, This Dad Explains Why It's So Wrong to Complain About Babies on Planes
Traveling in general can be an absolute nightmare, but traveling with children makes things exceptionally more difficult for parents. In just four simple tweets, one dad explained why it's so wrong to complain about babies who cry on flights, and whether you're a parent or not, you're going to agree.
After reading a post online about someone being asked to control their kid on a plane, Elon James White, founder of This Week in Blackness, was fired up and asked an honest question on Twitter: "What exactly are parents expected to do?"
Just read a post of someone yelling at people w/ kids to keep their kids from crying on planes. What exactly are parents expected to do?

As a parent, I can't even explain to you the precautions we take to try to make sure our kid doesn't cry on a plane. But it ain't up to us.

"I didn't have kids so I shouldn't have to listen to yours scream."
You should fly a private jet then. I deal w/ shit I hate all the time.- Elon James White (@elonjames) January 2, 2017
It's just amazing how shitty people can react to a kid and their parents. As if the parents are so ecstatic that the kid is screaming...

White brings up a very important point, that whether you're traveling with children or not, one thing remains the same: everyone wants a quiet flight. As much as we'd like to think we're all pure, kind souls who have never given a dirty look or rolled our eyes, we need to all be a little more respectful to parents traveling with children - especially screaming children - because they're doing the best they can.
Of every passenger on a flight, not one person wants a baby to stop crying more than the parents of that child, and complaining about it can be even more disruptive than the crying baby. Since this is such a relatable topic for both parents and travelers, White's tweets are making many people reconsider the way they act on flights.
As a non-parent, this makes me think about the situation differently. Definitely going to work on my reaction (i.e not bitching about it). https://t.co/URcjJlvTjr

@elonjames thank you for these tweets. It's an awful, helpless feeling parenting on a plane & snide remarks from others only make it worse

@elonjames And during the holidays? Dude. People with babies on planes aren't doing it FOR FUNSIES.

@elonjames I always think that's such a weird complaint. Like do they think parents enjoy crying kids?

@elonjames I've seen far more "adults" act like jerks on planes than heard babies cry/seen kids misbehave. I'll take babies/kids any day!
