Keurig Will Soon Be Able to Brew Something Much Stronger Than Coffee
Making a cup coffee from a pod in under a minute is already pretty amazing, but soon, your Keurig will be able to make alcoholic drinks. You read that right: beer, cocktails, and spirits will be able to flow out of your Keurig like the nectar of the gods thanks to a partnership between Anheuser-Busch InBev and Green Mountain. The two companies "entered into a joint venture focused on the research and development of an in-home alcohol drink system," according to the press release. Basically, they want you to become your own personal bartender.
Before you get too excited, know that there's no release date yet (masterpieces take time), and you won't be able to add IPA pods to the Keurig you already have in your kitchen - you'll have to buy a new machine entirely. This new Keurig will "build on the Keurig KOLD system," the soda-making Keurig that was discontinued last Summer. If the machine lives up to the hype, it would be completely worth the price and could change the at-home entertaining game forever. Imagine being able to serve your friends a "homemade" cocktail with just the press of a button! For now, we'll stick to our Keurig coffee, but we'll be dreaming about the possibility of whipping up our own "draft" beer without the tap. Stay tuned for more details as the CEO of the project, Nathaniel Davis, releases them. "We can't wait to get started," he said.
