Peter Capaldi Is Officially Leaving Doctor Who
The Doctor . . . is out. On Monday, BBC announced that Peter Capaldi will be leaving Doctor Who after the upcoming series (aka season). Capaldi has played the titular character on the long-running British show since 2013, when he took over the helm from Matt Smith. The news was announced via the show's official Twitter handle:
BREAKING NEWS!

Peter confirms he'll be stepping down in Xmas 2017, but
"I'm still #DoctorWho! We're doing epic stuff! I'm not done yet!"

Capaldi is just the latest actor to portray the character - the twelfth, the be exact. Smith, David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, and Paul McGann all played the Doctor in the '90s and '00s. This news simply leaves us with the question: Who's next?
