Strangers Rally Behind Boy With Autism Who Loves Target by Giving Him the Sweetest Gift

Like many kids, Renee Britt's son absolutely loves Target. But for Dawson, who has autism, his weekly visits are about much more than running errands.

Dawson and Rennee head to the boy's favorite place at least three to four days a week and use their time as therapy for Dawson to learn how to socialize. "It's because of Target and the sweet employees like Jennifer, our favorite cashier, that Dawson learned to patiently wait in line," Renee wrote on Facebook.

Target has also helped Dawson in another unexpected way, thanks to a specific Stormtrooper Christmas shirt. Since discovering this particular top, Dawson started wearing it daily, and his mom sees a major difference in his confidence when he has it on. Renee washes it nightly and tried buying Dawson another one since it no longer fits, but Target is sold out.

Determined to keep her son's infectious smile around and progress moving forward, the dedicated mom took to the Love What Matters Facebook page to ask if any strangers had the shirt and would be willing to sell it to her. The internet worked its magic, and other moms are now flooding the post's comments with sentiments of mutual support - as they also have kids with autism or use Target as their therapy time - and with photos of the exact shirt Renee was searching for.

Check out the adorable video above to see just how much Target and his Star Wars shirt mean to this incredible little boy.
