This Might Not Be Her New Single, but This Video Proves Selena Gomez Is Definitely in the Studio
At the close of 2016, Selena Gomez delighted fans when she reappeared in the studio with songwriter Justin Tranter. While Selena continues to be relatively private about her Revival follow-up album, she recently sent fans into a tizzy when she shared a video of herself dancing around in the studio to a song that sounded like it could be her next release.
Upon further inspection, it became apparent that Selena was celebrating her friend and songwriter Julia Michaels, who just recently released her debut single, "Issues." In the sweet video, Selena sings along with Julia and Justin. In her caption, she wrote, "When the people who changed your life create magic," adding, "One of my favorite songs they have ever written."
Prior to "Issues," Julia and Justin collaborated on many pop hits for Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, and Britney Spears. They are, however, particularly close to Selena, having helped write eight out of the 11 songs on Revival.
Selena faced criticism as of late for her rumored relationship with The Weeknd, given that she appeared to be friendly with his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid. Her recent videos with Julia and Justin, however, helped distract from those rumors as Julia captioned her video of her fun studio session with, "When you have the most incredible and supportive friends in the world."
