3 Things You Should Consider When Styling Hats in the Home Stretch of Winter

The following post was originally featured on The Girl From Panama and written by Pamela Hetlinger, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.

One of my favorite accesories to wear year-round is hats. They are versatile and easy to style and can give your outfit a little extra character. During the Winter they are one of my must-haves because not only do they keep your head warm, but they are also a great way to show your personal style. Here are some of my tips for wearing a hat during the colder months.

Fit

First things first, make sure the hat is your size. If you buy it in a store, take the time to try it on. If you buy it online, make sure you measure your head and follow the size guide for reference. Choosing one that fits can make all the difference!

Color

It's always best to start out with neutrals - black, camel and gray are great options to have during the Winter - but also dare to wear color. I think the burgundy one I'm wearing really makes a statement and contrasts nicely with my white coat.

Experiment

To many, a hat might not be an everyday item, but in my opinion, a hat is the perfect seasonal accessory that always works. Of course, this depends on the material and the style. For example, a beanie and a wool hat are best for the Winter and a straw hat is best for the Summer. The best way to start incorporating hats into your outfits is to try different shapes and styles and experiment until you find the one that's best for you.

Introducing Your New Favorite Way to Post a Travel Instagram

Vacationing is not only about relaxing; it's also about taking the best travel Instagram - of course! Koheun Lee's Instagram has creative inspiration for those perpetually in search of the perfect travel post.

Instead of just 'gramming the most picturesque shots from her travels, Lee invented a unique way to document her globetrotting: a cutout of herself in front of wherever she was in the world. Presently, Lee only has 362 followers, but we're guessing that will change overnight. She's also not the first person to incorporate cutouts into her feed - one user used animal cutouts to hold against colorful backgrounds and another used them to create visual puns.

We're totally sold on Lee's adorable idea, though. Let her best snaps ahead show all the places you can take your mini me.

Why I Will Never Wear Skinny Jeans Ever Again

As a child, I vividly remember hating jeans. The nonstretchy, tight-around-your-ankle style of the early '90s would send me into a fit of red-faced rage, and I would beg my parents, even in the dead of Winter, "Please, can't I just wear a dress?!"

But years - and numerous pairs of Limited Too bell-bottoms - later, I found myself, once again, slipping into body-hugging pants: skinny jeans. It was 2005, and perhaps it was the fact that I prided myself on staying on top of trends. Maybe I was excited to add a new style to the mix. Or maybe my lifeguarding check was burning a hole in my Dooney & Bourke purse. Whatever the reason, the second I zipped those babies up, I was in love. I'd go on to rock my skinnies with a pair of pink ballet flats, feeling like the cutest little '00s teen to ever set foot in my high school.

My fashion story, however, does not have a happy ending. A few years ago, in the midst of a mirror-selfie phase, I realized something: I had started hating the way slim-fitting pants looked on me. Scrolling through my photos, my short legs seemed "stumpy." My hip area - a part of my body that I'm not very fond of - seemed highlighted and exaggerated. And despite opting for pairs with hints of spandex (read: practically jeggings), my legs always felt like they were suffocating. I couldn't wait to rip those pants off the moment I stepped inside my house.

So I splurged for some boyfriend jeans and, last Spring, embraced flares. Now in the midst of cleaning out my closet, I've come to the realization that the few pairs of skinny jeans I have left are wasting space. I'm giving them up for good this time. Read on for reasons you might want to do the same.

How To Get a Bespoke Fascinator For the Dubai World Cup

Dubai-based designer Louise Harrison talks us through the process of how she creates bespoke fascinators for parties, weddings and, of course, the Dubai World Cup.

1. Pre-Consultation

Before meeting the customer it's important that they have already chosen an outfit or at least know the color of the dress they intend to wear – although some prefer to have a fascinator made and then choose an outfit to match. If you've got your outfit I'd recommend you bring it to my boutique in Souk Madinat along with your accessories and we can have a chat about what you want.

2. Consultation

Some women like to go big, some prefer discreet. Some like feathers, others want a 3-dimensional structure. Some don't have a clue, but that's okay because I can establish what would suit their face, personality and outfit during the consultation. Although most of my fascinators are made-to-order, I have a small collection at the boutique to give you inspiration and so we can establish what style suits best. We'll have to decide:

· What color headband or grip would suit your hair color

· Which side your head the fascinator will sit

· What colors complement your outfit and accessories

· What style you want – traditional or contemporary

· What budget you have

3. Shopping

Prior to a big event such as the Dubai World Cup I will order enough supplies (feathers, sinemay, silk, cotton, accessories etc) from around the world, but because of the bespoke nature of my work, it's impossible to keep stock of every fabric, veiling, feather and trim in every color. Invariably, this will mean a shopping expedition to the local haberdasheries to pick up specific colors to match your outfit - I think sometimes the hardest part is matching the dress colors, even though I have hundreds of bits of different colored fabric in my studio, some colors are exceedingly difficult to track down. I get there in the end!

4. Production

Back in my studio I can finally start the process of putting everything we discussed into action. It may come as a surprise but I infrequently sketch out any designs before making them, I find it quicker and easier to let the idea grow organically as I'm making it based on the consultation. Producing bespoke fascinators involves a variety of techniques; lots of hand sewing, gluing, stiffening, cutting, more gluing and sculpting together with a multitude of materials; feathers, cottons, silks, felt, sinamay and more – everything is meticulously crafted by my hands and takes many hours work.

5. Fitting

This is the exciting part. Depending on the complexity of the piece, anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks after the initial consultation we will meet again at my boutique where you'll have the chance to try your bespoke fascinator for the first time. 90% of the time the piece is perfect and the customer is delighted but, if any minor adjustments are required such as adding more feathers, this is usually done within 24-48 hours after which the fascinator is complete and ready to collect.

If you're looking for a fascinator for the Dubai World Cup, or perhaps a wedding this summer, you can contact Louise on 050 274 8581 or visit http://ift.tt/1QShw4G for inspiration and ideas. If you're in the Souk Madinat, pop in to the boutique for a look at the collection of exquisite fascinators, kaftans and accessories.

Kardashian Hairstylist Jen Atkin's Latest Barbie Is a Stunning Redhead

Hairstylist Jen Atkin is taking a moment away from her celebrity clients (Khloé and Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen); her website, Mane Addicts; and her outstanding new product line, Ouai, to work with one of the baddest b*tches in Hollywood: Barbie. Jen announced via Instagram that she created four looks for the iconic Mattel doll, all focused around hot hair looks.

She said: "Just arrived at #pfw and can finally debut my collab with the biggest Muse of all time @barbiestyle !! I had the honor of creating 4 new looks for her inspired by today's coolest hairstyles. First up, the high pony! The definition of #ponytailgoals with a super thick, FLIRTY textured pony a lot like versions I've done on my clients. Do you DIE for Her dark strands pair perfectly with a dark lip? Its so NYC chic! THIS IS A MAJOR DREAM COME TRUE... I literally still have my childhood barbies shoes and brushes!"

Jen is not the first beauty pro to give Barbie a makeover - last season, makeup artist Pat McGrath started the trend.

Thanks to Jen, Barbie definitely looks like she's ready to sit front row at Paris Fashion Week with a voluminous, shiny high ponytail that begs to be Instagrammed. Her vampy lips and matching jacket seal the deal that she's still the original Queen B. Barbie's second style is an of-the-moment lob, which reminds us of the buzzy chop Jen gave Khloé in October 2015. The third Barbie is a stunning redhead with a cut Jen says she gets requests for often (long bangs and relaxed waves). And she teased that this look was likely inspired by her hair pro BFF, Lauren Andersen.

Watch this space to see more of Jen's doll looks as they are revealed.

39 Times Willow Smith Was a Beauty Badass (and You Wanted to Copy Her)

Willow Smith was destined to be a beauty muse. As the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, she is genetically blessed when it comes to personal style (and just being gorgeous). She recently shared the news via Instagram that she is now a Chanel ambassador, thanking Karl Lagerfeld and the fashion house for "expanding the perceptions of 'beauty'" and picking her. But when we heard this, we thought, "Of course they did!"

Just scroll through the photos we dug up of Willow over the past 10 years. Like a chameleon, she is able to easily change her style while still looking stunning and inspiring. Plus, she has tried every hair length from an almost-shaved head to bum-skimming locks, experimented with rainbow dye colors, and dolled up her face with bold eyeliner looks. We predict her beauty stardom will only grow from here!

Hayley Williams Will Help You Turn Into a Unicorn Just Like Her

Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams is going to make it that much easier for you to join #TeamUnicorn when she launches her own at-home hair color line, Good Dye Young. The project is completely self-financed, so you know it's authentic! The musician leads the pack when it comes to experimenting with rainbow rocker shades, so naturally the inspiration behind the collection was her own ever-changing locks.

"I wanted to take the intimidation factor out of doing hair at home," she told WWD. She hopes the offering will create an "all-inclusive counterculture that inspires creativity, community, and most of all, color. The definition of self-expression is when you wake up in the morning and ask, 'Who do I want to be today?'"

Hayley's go-to color guru Brian O'Connor and global marketing pro Erik Hoover (who has worked at Pantone, L'Oréal, and Tweezerman) helped develop the collection. It includes five vivid hues - Rock Lobster (red), Blue Ruin (blue), Ex-Girl (pink), Steal My Sunshine (yellow), Riot (orange) - all priced at $14 each. The formulas are nontoxic, fragrance-free, and vegan. Instructions on how to use the treatment are explained via kitschy cartoons. Hayley plans to expand the brand with more colors as well as a lightening bleach, reusable bowls, and a fader to create bespoke hues.

This is not Hayley's first time helping to make beauty products, as she worked with MAC Cosmetics in 2013.

While you have to wait until the products are for presale on April 15 and shipped in May, you can start planning your new Spring shade by scrolling through our 15 favorite hair moments from Hayley. Though she's known for vibrant orange, we saw sneaks of Smurf blue, algae green, and even blond.

Kylie Jenner's Secret to Clear Skin Is . . .

I'm sure you thought that the trick to Kylie Jenner having clear skin is just: "being 18 years old!" We've got a sense of humor about all things Kardashian, too. But it's time everyone realizes that Kylie Jenner is a beauty afficionado. You might not like her "glam," you might think she's too young to enhance her looks, but time and time again, Kylie has proven to us that she knows the biz. Whether she's snapping about a $9 drugstore makeup remover (albeit, hers is monogrammed and bedazzled), touting a shade from her lip kit, or breaking down her favorite faux lashes, we consistently favor Kylie's favorite products. Which is why we're not surprised that she is in-the-know about spot treatments.

Kylie recently snapped about the aforementioned makeup remover, Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate ($46) and the holy grail of spot treatments, otherwise known as Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion ($17). Beauty editors and skin care junkies love this product because it works: it reduces the size of the blemish and the redness overnight and can even bring blemishes to the surface for easier extractions.

Kylie filmed a mini Snapchat demo on how to use the product, emphasizing that you do not shake the product, but instead use a cotton swab to dip into the solution and spot treat. I personally fell in love with this brand in middle school after reading that Hilary Duff loved the rosewater spray. The Drying Lotion works wonders for breakouts, and at almost $20, it's a considerable beauty investment - but worth every penny. (It lasts you months, though, so it definitely gives major bang for your bucks.) We even made a homemade version - that's how much we adore it.

I spoke with Mario Badescu's PR manager, Nicole Darmanin, to see if Kylie's influence affected sales of the product. "After Kylie snapped, we immediately started receiving phone calls and there was an instant uptick in sales. The Kylie buzz was instantaneous!" said Darmanin. Ah, Kylie Jenner: a modern-day beauty savant. Perhaps she has a future as an editor? (You know, after running her Lip Kit empire.)

This Cornrow Braided Bun Will Be Your Favorite Spring Hairstyle

If you're thinking about joining #teamnatural this Spring and embracing your curls, then having a go-to protective style should be part of your hair care routine. We are obsessed with this look that marries cornrow braids with a bun (and in some cases, a man bun). Wilmer Valderrama Is Following in Demi Lovato's Footsteps With a Guest Star Spot on Grey's

Exciting news: Wilmer Valderrama is guest starring in multiple episodes of Grey's Anatomy's new season this Spring. The From Dusk Till Dawn actor is no stranger to primetime TV (That '70s Show, anyone?), but it will surely be exciting to see him take on a dramatic role backed with the show's signature, cult-favorite dialogue, courtesy of Shonda Rhimes. Maybe his longtime love Demi Lovato can give him some pointers to ace his role? She appeared on the show back in 2010, after all.

Unfortunately, very few details have been released about Wilmer's character, but, Variety reports, we do know his name: Kyle Diaz. It's time to set your DVR, because you don't want to miss this!

Selena Gomez's Leggy Louis Vuitton Look Is One You Can Actually Copy

Selena Gomez made her Fall 2016 Paris Fashion Week debut at the Louis Vuitton show, where she supported artistic director and friend Nicolas Ghesquière. After traveling to Paris in a red sweatsuit and heels, stepping out in a low-cut lace-up shirt and getting trapped in an elevator wearing only a blazer as a top, the singer - who last Spring shocked us in a structured and unexpected leather dress at the brand's presentation in London - chose a simple yet impactful look to sit front row.

In a white button-down blouse, an A-line jean skirt, and white snake-print booties, Selena gave us some major inspiration for Spring using pieces we all have in our closet - OK, we might not have the shoes. Read on to see more photos of the star at the presentation, where she posed with other Louis Vuitton muses like Jennifer Connelly and Alicia Vikander, and find some shopping options that'll help you steal her look.

With friends like Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar is the Internet's newest crush and number one It dude. Why Is the USA the Only Country Cutting Recess From Their Children's Schedules?

Unlike Americans, Europeans don't view recess as a waste of time.Like ATTN: on Facebook.

Posted by ATTN: on Tuesday, March 8, 2016

In Europe, having children spend a large part of their day exploring and learning outside - even if it's freezing out - is a huge priority for teachers and parents. Why then, do American kids spend a shocking average of only seven minutes outside per day in comparison? In a video posted to Facebook, ATTN: looks at the differences between Europe and the US and is attempting to explain why it is that up to 40 percent of American school districts have reduced or eliminated recess, but in Europe, recess isn't viewed as a "waste of time."

Watch the video to see and hear their arguments, and tell us if you agree that our kids need more time in the great outdoors.

Families Will Soon Be Able to Hang Out With Joy and Sadness From Inside Out at Disney World

For families who visit any of the Disney theme parks, you know the best part is getting to watch your little ones squeal with delight when they meet their favorite characters. Now, they'll also be able to meet two famous faces from Pixar's Inside Out. Epcot announced it'll be adding Joy and Sadness, who we've come to love, to their meet-and-greet attraction in addition to their cast of regulars like Mickey and Minnie Mouse. You can find the two stars hanging out with Big Hero 6's Baymax at the newly expanded Epcot Character Spot in Future World. According to the Disney Parks Blog, Joy and Sadness will be at "Headquarters," and visitors will be able to "journey through Riley's long-term memory, catching a glimpse of her Islands of Personality before joining Joy and Sadness at the console." Sounds like the line will be long for this attraction!

#IWishMyTeacherKnew: One Teacher's Quest to Get to Know Her Students For Real

Source: Twitter user kylemschwartz Many believe that a teacher's first job is to educate children according to curriculum standards, to make sure that they pass tests and turn in assignments. Some would argue that a teacher's first, and most important job, is to advocate for her students, to nurture them and provide them with a safe space, to be there for them eight hours a day as a confidant and role model.

Last year, Kyle Schwartz, an elementary teacher from Denver, gave her students an opportunity to use their voices by creating a note-writing activity in her classroom, which she turned into a series on Twitter under the hashtag #IWishMyTeacherKnew. Since then, the hashtag has taken the Internet by storm and teachers all over the world are participating in Schwartz's exercise with their own students.

The third grade teacher told ABC News last April, "As a new teacher, I struggled to understand the reality of my students' lives and how to best support them. I just felt like there was something I didn't know about my students." She started the activity as a way to build trust and get to know her students on another level, giving them the opportunity to submit the notes anonymously if they wanted to. However, she found that most students were willing to sign their names to the vulnerable messages, and some even read them out loud in front of their classmates.

Schwartz's hope that this series would not only inspire other teachers to get to know their students and build trustworthy classroom communities, but to help students and their families get connected with the resources they may need at home, has been slowly coming to frution as more and more teachers take to Twitter with their students' notes.

Read on for more of the notes Schwartz's students - and students all over the world - have written:

This Incredible Groom-to-Be Just Proposed to His Stepdaughter in the Sweetest Way

William Ledbetter's 'proposal' to his future stepdaughter

When William Ledbetter proposed to his now-fiancée, we're sure it was as beautiful as any proposal. His proposal to his future stepdaughter, however, was beyond anything we've ever seen before and has us reaching for the tissue box. In a video posted to YouTube, he asks the little girl if she'll be his "daughter forever," and you can see her eyes light up as she starts jumping up and down before saying yes. Ledbetter wrote on YouTube, "I proposed to my girlfriend tonight but I wanted my sweet little girl to be included in the excitement as well."

Why This Mom Shielded Her Breastfeeding Child With a Victoria's Secret Model's Photo

So since my breastfeeding photo which showed NOTHING got reported more than FIVE times, I'm posting this. I bet this won...

Posted by Maria Corry on Thursday, February 18, 2016

Frustrated after a breastfeeding photo she posted on social media was reported for being perceived as inappropriate more than five times, one fed-up mother got creative with her latest nursing post.

Instead of sharing the same type of brelfie, Maria Corry decided to make a point by using an image of a lingerie model - with her boobs clad in lace and a seductive look on her face - to cover her breastfeeding child.

"I bet this won't be reported, because you can see this picture in every mall you step into, huge and blown up outside the store," Maria wrote. "This is not frowned upon, or ever reported, as it is seen everywhere. But a women nurturing and feeding their baby is looked down on."

Maria hopes that her poignant photo highlights the double standard that many people have when it comes to how they view breasts. She is optimistic that it will empower other women to share their breastfeeding selfies, despite the backlash she received. "In other countries breastfeeding is praised, and welcomed everywhere!" Maria added. "In America, people have so much negative things to say about it! I'm done with this stupid nonsense."

Whether or not Facebook users find lingerie models as equally inappropriate as they did the photo of a natural act between mother and child, Maria's photo sends an important message.

A Mom's Message to the "Gross" and "Embarrassing" Parts of Her Body Will Remind You to Treat Yours Like a Trophy

Not only does N'tima Preusser feel like she grew gigantic during her two pregnancies, but she also feels like the world stands in judgment of what was left behind.

Along with five adorable photos, Preusser posted an inspiring caption for any woman who has ever felt less than pleased with her body - and the pressure to hide, tuck in, or get rid of their postpartum tummy.

"These pieces of me are supposed to be gross, and unacceptable and embarrassing," Preusser wrote. "But I spent way too long hating myself to add to that noise. I've spent way too long hating myself to waste any more time not loving the thing that I can attribute the most to my survival in this exhausting life."

Preusser gets real with the fact that she put food in her mouth when her brain convinced her that she didn't deserve to eat. She acknowledges that her hair is falling out in fistfuls and that some areas of skin hang lower and softer now. But most importantly, her bones have borne the weight of two perfect children and sustained them as long as it was capable. She will not let any perceived "flaws" take away from that.

"My body is my trophy," Preusser proudly added. "My scars tell my stories. My body made me a mother, but my babies made me a woman. This figure is mine."

See How a Service Dog Named Jedi Saves His 7-Year-Old Owner's Life Every Day

This may just look like a dog, a sleeping boy and a number on a screen, but this, this moment right here is so much...

Posted by Saving Luke - Luke and Jedi - Fighting Type 1 Diabetes Together on Thursday, March 3, 2016

Seven-year-old Luke was sleeping inches from his slumbering mother, Dorrie Nuttall, who had no way of knowing during those late-night hours that anything was wrong with her son. Luckily for Luke, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 2 years old, his service dog, Jedi, woke up Nuttall, alerting her to her son's dangerously low (and dropping) glucose level, saving his life.

Because low blood sugar has not woken up Luke in over four years, his parents wake up every single night to check his levels and make sure he's in a safe range. But on this night, when Luke's sugar was dropping rapidly in between glucose checks, Jedi was there to make sure that someone woke up to help Luke get his levels back up - had he not, Luke could have experienced a seizure, slipped into a coma, or died.

Nuttall took to Facebook right after attending to her son to share a photo of Jedi, a sleeping Luke, and his low blood sugar reading: "This is a picture of Jedi saving his boy. Amidst a disease that does everything in its power to make life so much harder, this is a picture of loyalty and love and perseverance. A reminder that we will not let diabetes win, that we will never give up, and that we will always fight for our children."

Nuttall is sharing Luke's story to spread awareness about Type 1 diabetes and to show the world why it's so important that we work for a cure. Read her full post above.

Wait Until You See What Happens When a Student Uses Donald Trump's Logic on an Assignment

View post on imgur.com

For all of its issues, one thing that Common Core classroom assignments have left us with is a little bit of humor. While parents may not see the benefits of various math processes and lengthy narratives, kids are having some fun with it.

Take this student who used the extra lines on a math or economics assignment to expand on the capital of Canada. The bonus question asks students to name the capital of the country, but the student clearly doesn't know the answer. So rather than leave it blank, the student uses circular reasoning to discuss how great Canada is - language that sounds eerily similar to the way a certain US presidential candidate is known to speak - including the genius hashtag #MakeCanadaGreatAgain. The student wrote:

"Of course I know the capital of Canada. It's a great country. It's really great. Everyone wants to know what the capital of Canada is. And you know what I tell them? I tell them we have a foolproof plan for naming the capital of Canada. And that's why we're going to be the best at naming the capital of Canada. #MakeCanadaGreatAgain"

Hey - if it works for someone running to be president of the United States, why shouldn't it work on a school assignment?

The 1 Big Problem With That Shocking Death on House of Cards

Warning: spoilers about House of Cards season four, episode four follow:

We all should have seen it coming. Still, the demise of Edward Meechum on the fourth episode of House of Cards's fourth season is a huge bummer. Why? The secret service agent was not only just really damn likable, but he may have been the only character on the series completely absent of cynicism; the one person in the White House who seemed actually, deeply good. Think about it: has any other relatively central character on the Netflix show been so unwaveringly loyal? So endearingly innocent? So completely devoid of ulterior motives? Nope. That's exactly what makes Meechum's death - which comes as he takes a bullet meant for, and arguably pretty well deserved by, President Frank Underwood - so foreboding.

While the first three seasons of House of Cards told the story of a political power couple who worked together - even while admittedly manipulating each other - toward a shared end, season four of the show has completely blown that up. Meechum provided a kind of symbolic link between Frank and Claire Underwood, as illustrated by that sort of WTF threesome they had last season. Not only that, but his death is a big signal to viewers that the POTUS is completely and utterly alone. His protector is dead; his former partner in life (and sometimes actual, literal crime) is ready to destroy him if he doesn't give her what she wants. The show's writers could not have sent a stronger message that Frank Underwood is more vulnerable than ever.

My one gripe with the way the show handles Meechum's departure? Just how far the episodes leading up to his death go to show him as, well, kind of a total dummy. He is comically bewildered when Underwood tries to question him about his possible role in sabotaging his campaign, ridiculously dense while the two ponder a painting together (after mistaking the Confederate flag for the American flag, he offers up this intellectually stimulating bit of art criticism: "The colors are nice"), and is essentially reduced to a kindergartner when the president decides to trace his handprint on a wall in the White House with a marker. Even if the Underwoods themselves believe you have to be dumb to be decent, conflating Meechum's goodness with stupidity seems just a little bit too simplistic for the writers of such a nuanced series - not to mention unnecessary. He deserves better.

RIP, Edward Meechum (2013-2016).

5 Things You Should Do Every Morning If You Want to Be Healthy

In those first years out of college, I struggled with the transition into "real adulthood." Adulting is hard! But as I started to make health and self-care more of a priority, I realized that I was lacking a solid morning routine. Fast-forward to today, and the routine I've established has helped set the tone for a healthy day, every day. Aside from the universal tip of "eat breakfast," here are the top five things that have helped me rise and shine; try these for a morning of wellness!

Oil Pull

Before you start saying "oil pulling is so 2014," hear me out. I grind my teeth at night, and I know I'm not alone in this. In addition to the possible oral health benefits, oil pulling exercises a stiff jaw to alleviate pain, forces you to get up 20 minutes earlier, and acts as a chemical-free mouthwash.

Stretch

While I oil pull, I stretch. I take this time to relax, meditate a bit, and warm up my body for the day. If I have time or get up early enough, I go to yoga or do a few Sun Salutations in my room. I know I'll be in a desk chair all day, so I try to carve out some time to always get a good stretch session in.

Drink Lemon Water

A room-temperature glass of lemon water has tons of health benefits: alongside improved hydration, you'll get a vitamin C boost for glowing skin, a metabolism boost, and a mood boost.

Care For Your Skin

I don't have an extreme 11-step Korean skin care routine, but I do have a pretty solid lineup for my skin. I cleanse my skin with Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel and my Clarisonic, then tone, apply serum, and moisturize. Twice a week, I use a peel, and three times a week, I use a retexturizing scrub. And you know what? I never knew my skin could be this good! The byproduct of this is that I now look forward to waking up (don't judge me) to go through my skin care routine.

Take Vitamins

I take B12 for energy, omega-3 for mood and muscle health, and vitamin E for hair, skin, and nails. If I'm drinking my vitamins in a shake, I use Vega One powder mixed with some coconut milk. At the risk of sounding like your mom, take your vitamins!

Sony Music Will Cut Ties With Dr. Luke Amid Ongoing Battle With Kesha

Sony Music Entertainment is expected to end its working relationship with Dr. Luke, according to a new exclusive report from The Wrap. While no official statements have been made about the new decision, a source close to SME has revealed that the company will cut professional ties a year before his contract's expiration. It's kind of an unexpected move, given the fact that Sony has consistently sided against Kesha during her ongoing legal battle with the producer. At the same time, it might come as a surprise that Sony didn't act sooner.

Consider the fact that a vast amount of stars - many of whom are huge, influential forces in the music world - have rallied around Kesha with support. What's more, the singer released her own heartbreaking statement, other musicians have offered to help her create new music, and Lena Dunham even published a powerful letter about the issue in Lenny Letter. Stay tuned as more details emerge, and in the meantime, check out some of Kesha's most powerful quotes.

Update: POPSUGAR reached out to Sony Music Entertainment for a statement regarding the status of Dr. Luke's contract. A rep for the company responded: "We have no comment."

All the Times Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Have Been Spotted Together Since Their Split

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their plans to divorce back in June 2015, but it's hard not to notice how much we've seen them out and about together since their split. It's almost as if they haven't really broken up at all. Yes, the couple did say that they would be keeping a united front for the sake of their three kids, and they have been spotted on numerous outings with them - but they've also been photographed spending time together without their little ones, including dinner dates and office visits; most recently, they met up at Vanity Fair's annual post-Oscars bash and spent the holidays together, though sources close to the couple have said that they "find it annoying" to deal with each other so closely.

More details about the couple's estrangement came from Jennifer herself, in a soul-baring profile for Vanity Fair's March issue. The actress opened up about all those rumors of infidelity and shut down that unfortunate nanny scandal by saying that she "had nothing to do" with their split. Despite the obvious hardships and challenges, it seems as though Ben and Jen are truly working hard to keep their relationship amicable for the sake of Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. We've rounded up all the times they've been seen out together since announcing their split.

The answer to these questions is unclear, but one thing is certain: we're here to appreciate the risk that Jason Momoa's shirts face every day. Let's give thanks by looking back on all the times his shirts practically begged for mercy.

As Helen shrugged, Stephen just stood there, wondering what had just happened as the crowd cheered. Later, while Stephen wiped sweat from his forehead, Helen explained, "If I didn't do it then, I'd never get to do it, so, you know . . . I've been dreaming about doing that for about 15 years. I just grabbed my chance, I'm so sorry." It's official: when you're Helen Mirren, you can do whatever you want and easily get away with it.

Pink Shares a Powerful Message About the "Magic" of Women After Kim Kardashian's Nude Selfie Drama

International Women's Day was on Tuesday and many stars took to social media to give special shout-outs to the amazing role models in their lives, and Pink, who is known for her badass and outspoken attitude, was no exception. The singer took to Twitter to share a message that celebrated all women and their "magic," writing:

"Shout out to all of the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their 'magic' that they were born with, that only they possess. It may not ever bring you as much 'attention' or bank notes as using your body, your sex, your tits and asses, but women like you don't need that kind of 'attention.' In the quiet moments, you will feel something deeper than the fleeting excitement resulting from attention, you will feel something called pride and self respect. Keep on resisting the urge to cave. You'll never have to make silly excuses for yourself."

While Pink has always been one to lift other women up, some fans thought she may have been throwing shade at Kim Kardashian. The reality star posted a naked selfie to Instagram earlier this week, which sparked numerous responses from celebrities like Bette Midler and Chloë Grace Moretz. After hitting back at all of them on Twitter, Kim wrote a lengthy blog post about her decision to go naked, saying she feels "empowered" by her sexuality. Many other celebrities then came to Kim's defense, but Pink decided to steer clear of it all by posting her own message. She ended it with, "Last one for the evening: you are all entitled to your opinions and feelings and I am open to hear all of it. But it won't change my mind." See her post below!

The Reason This Mom Is Asking Women to Be Naked Around Their Children Is Not What You'd Expect

Posted by Constance Hall on Monday, March 7, 2016

In honor of International Women's Day, Constance Hall - who has divided the Internet with her viral Facebook posts - is asking women to love their bodies and show them off . . . by advocating nakedness around their children.

Hall says she wants her boys - and girls - to grow up with a realistic vision of a woman's body, rather than what is pictured on TV and in magazines. To achieve this, she advocates being naked around your home and in front of your children: "The next generation's definition of beauty will be radically different and no longer will we idolize the unrealistic airbrushed idea of perfection that causes so much self doubt and depression."

What do you think of Hall's plea?

This Dad Didn't Know He Had Autism - Until His Daughter Was Diagnosed

Here's to the men:Who hold their women every night.Who make pancakes on Saturdays.Who get up and parent their...

Posted by GirlTribe on Friday, January 15, 2016

When a psychologist diagnosed Chris Offer's oldest daughter, Sno, with autism, it was a life-altering moment in more ways than one.

The Australian father of four always considered his own behaviors as "quirky," but it had never occurred to Chris or his wife that he could also be on the autism spectrum.

Wife Jessica has been with Chris for 10 years and shared her experience discovering his diagnosis in a blog post titled, "We Were Married 7 Years Before It Occurred to Us That My Husband Was Autistic."

"Imagine that all your life you're trying to be . . . held in this normal box and no matter how hard you try, you find it hard," she said. "And then someone goes, 'Well, that's because you're not normal.' It's freeing."

Jessica first noticed that her daughter wasn't "neurotypical" from the time she was 4 years old. She describes how she would never dare walk a different route to kindergarten or change Sno's breakfast food because her daughter couldn't handle it if her routine was altered. When Jessica took her concerns to Chris, she says that he dismissed them as normal. They both later realized that this was because it was his normal, too.

"He saw no issue with the way she behaved because he could see why. He could understand her triggers because they triggered him, too," Jessica wrote. "And he had many of the exact same struggles when he was young that she was experiencing now. But no one made any connection."

After another year, Jessica decided to have her daughter assessed and with that came the autism diagnosis. A few months later, Chris went in for a formal assessment and learned the truth. Even though Chris's diagnosis came as a surprise to them both, Jessica acknowledges that the pair did get into fights when they first started dating because it was hard for him to make eye contact with people while he was speaking.

"He's always been kind of unique. He's always paid more attention to detail where I'm more scattered," Jessica told ABC News. "So I've always really loved it because he contrasts my personality. We never looked into it because it was never a problem in our relationship."

Despite the fact that Chris had never even heard of autism when he was younger, he now feels "better equipped" to deal with everyday life since the diagnosis.

"I'm still doing the same things that I'm always doing but I'm doing them differently with more of a conscious mind," he said. "The diagnosis gives you a better toolbox to deal with everyday life."

7 Reasons You Should Start Asking Your Children Open-Ended Questions

Growing up, my mom would ask me every single day, "how was school?" and no matter how uneventful or amazing my day was, my response was always "good." I know my mom was just trying to gauge how my day was, and she was probably hoping that if I didn't have a good one, I would actually change my answer. But the truth is, it became a sort of learned response and cut off any meaningful communication we could have engaged in as a result.

When we ask our children closed questions that are almost guaranteed to be answered with one word, we're doing them a disservice by not allowing them to creatively and openly speak to us. Our children need a lot from us, but open communication is definitely at the top of that list for a number of reasons.

Here are seven ways that asking open-ended questions - that will spark so much more than a one-worded answer - can help you to communicate better with your child and encourage the development of a number of vital skills.

My Placenta Turned on Me and Started Attacking

The placenta is an astonishing organ; it is, after all, essential for growing healthy babies. However, in my last pregnancy, the very thing that was giving my daughter life was also something that was risking mine. I suffered from placenta accreta, a barely talked about condition until recently when Kim Kardashian went public with her struggles with it.

When I was 19 weeks pregnant, my husband and I headed to an ultrasound for our second baby. My first trimester was rough. I suffered morning sickness, bleeding, and an emergency appendectomy at 15 weeks. So we were thrilled that the baby survived what we thought was the toughest trimester during pregnancy and figured this doctor visit would be a routine scan. However, something seemed off with the ultrasound technician.

The scan was lengthy and she asked the high-risk ob-gyn to come in to look as well. What was supposed to be a "Hallelujah! You survived the first trimester!" moment turned into fear and concern. The doctor noticed that there was some blurring between the uterus and the placenta. She was suspecting placenta accreta, but she could not be certain until another scan around 28 weeks.

What I learned from my friend Google, after I returned home, was that accreta occurs when the placenta behaves like a tumor by attaching to the uterine wall and in some cases grows through the wall and can invade other organs. It is a very dangerous condition that has a high risk of hemorrhaging and can lead to a hysterectomy and a 7 percent chance of maternal death. The placenta is more likely to attach and turn into accreta when you have scar tissue from existing surgeries of the uterus.

I had a previous C-section, due to my firstborn being breech, and according to the American Pregnancy Association, this increased my chance of having accreta by 0.3 percent - a statistic no one mentioned to me when I was advised to have a C-section. They gave me the risks if I chose not to have the C-section, but they never informed me of the potential complications I could have in future pregnancies after having one.

I would have to wait another 10 weeks until I knew what my fate would be. In that time, I was told to go on modified bed rest, which was challenging with a toddler to care for at home. I was also advised that for the remainder of my pregnancy, I should keep my phone on me at all times and to leave the door to my house unlocked in case an EMT would need to get in due to hemorrhage risks - I was told I could bleed out in minutes. I had to prepare my family for all possibilities, which was a difficult conversation to have. While other moms-to-be were getting ready for baby showers and picking out nursery colors, I was worrying about my placenta attacking my organs and if I would even live through this.

Around 30 weeks, an MRI scan confirmed accreta, which developed into percreta, the most severe form of the condition, when the placenta invades through the uterus and into surrounding organs. In my case it was attaching to my bladder. I was immediately transferred to a group of specialists at Stanford Medical due to the complex nature of my placenta attachment.

I was told I would need to be admitted at 32 weeks for hospital bed rest. They asked me to get a series of steroid shots as a precaution to help my baby's lungs develop. This ended up being a huge blessing, because I started having contractions the Sunday night before I was to be admitted. I was only 31 weeks, 5 days, but they suspected there was a small uterine rupture causing contractions and they would need to form an emergency team of surgeons to deliver the baby the following morning.

That morning was a blur. I was trying to keep calm and positive while the anesthesiologist inserted large catheter ports in my arms for easier access to transfuse blood at a rapid rate. Nothing about this birth experience was natural. My operating room had a large surgical team of around 20 doctors and nurses. This wasn't going to be your average C-section but would require the work of ob-gyns, oncologists, and anesthesiologists to perform the surgery. We also had to wait in the surgical room for almost an hour to make sure they had the right blood type on hand in case of hemorrhaging. Finally everything was in place and they put me under general anesthesia before delivering my baby, Annabelle, who was born at 3 pounds, 6 ounces. After she was born, they immediately got to work on me. The doctors removed my uterus, fallopian tubes, and a portion of my bladder during the surgery. I aspirated, required intubation and needed four units of blood due to hemorrhaging. I woke up five hours later in the ICU unable to speak with a breathing tube down my throat.

Because I was in the ICU for a few days, I didn't get to meet my daughter right away. I wasn't even able to hold her until five days later. She was beautiful and worth it all. She spent 34 days in the NICU - most of that time considered routine - and she was released earlier than expected.

My recovery on the other hand was rocky. I suffered many complications from the surgery. I had to wear a catheter from the bladder repair and I suffered an ileus, which causes your intestines to shut down. I kept failing the bladder tests. Two weeks later, they sent me home, only to be readmitted the next day to another, closer hospital for chest pains and then transferred back to Stanford for more care. The aspiration from the original surgery had caused fluid to form in my chest and required many procedures, including chest tubes, to drain it. My body was also raging with fever so they assigned me to an infectious disease doctor.

It was a painful roller coaster with constant bad news. My husband joked that it was like the lyrics from that Paula Abdul song, "I take 2 steps forward, I take 2 steps back." At one point things were looking so dire, my doctors were talking to me about possible lung surgery and an additional bladder repair. I was overwhelmed; I just wanted to be home with my family and feeling "normal" again. But around the end of the fourth week, things turned around. My lung scans came back clear and my bladder was finally healing enough to send me home.

When people ask me what was the hardest part of this experience, I don't hesitate: being away from my children for a month. I only was able to hold Annabelle a few times during her first month, because I was constantly fighting infections in the hospital and they wouldn't allow me into the NICU. Olivia was only 2 and she didn't understand why her mom was gone for so long. I only had her visit the hospital a couple of times, because I was so sick and attached to so many tubes. I didn't want to frighten her. I will never forget the time we Facetimed in the hospital and Olivia burst into tears when she saw me. She missed her mama and there was nothing I could do. I cried myself to sleep alone in the hospital room that night.

If it wasn't for the tremendous amount of support from friends and family, I don't know how I would have gotten through this time. We had family members travel here from out of state to care for Olivia at home while others spent hours in the hospital with me. Family members even took shifts spending time in the NICU cuddling Annabelle, since I wasn't allowed to hold her. Friends provided meals every day for over two months. My husband juggled us all, driving back and forth between my daughter at home and me in the hospital every night.

I am now 7 months postpartum and I still have some moments of anxiety over everything that happened. Those moments may stick with me for a lifetime, but I am so happy to have survived this. I am so thankful to the doctors and nurses who saved me and to the people who donated blood, so I could still be here today to raise my children.
