This New Cute Robot For Your Home Looks Like It's From Wall-E
Remember how adorable and easy it was to fall in love with Wall-E? Well, one company just brought their own version of Wall-E to life with the Kuri - and it's as adorable as you can imagine.
Announced at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, the Kuri is a robot meant for your home. Imagine a Google Home or Echo Dot but on wheels - that's the Kuri. Weighing in at 14 pounds and only 20 inches tall, the Kuri can roll on its own around your home and do a variety of tasks such as playing music, reading bedtime stories to kids, and plenty more. Kuri also has a 1080p camera, so you can check in on your home and pets whenever you want.
Created by Mayfield Robotics, Kuri truly appears to be a one-of-a-kind robot. Not only can the robot react with sounds and move its head, but it can also move around your house while avoiding any objects or stairs it could fall down. Even better, Kuri will recognize when it's low on battery and return to its dock for charging - all without you needing to say or do a single thing.
The Kuri costs $699 and is available for preorder today, with an expected ship date around the 2017 holiday season. It's pricey, but seems a bit more useful than a Google Home or Echo device, since the Kuri can follow you around. Look ahead for a video of how it works and photos of Kuri.
