You Definitely Don't Want to Miss the Quadrantid Meteor Shower Tonight
The New Year is already off to a dazzling start, thanks to the Quadrantid meteor shower, a short but sweet display that occurs at the start of every January. The shower is believed to be exceptionally remarkable on Jan. 3 and 4 during the wee hours between midnight and dawn. Those living in North America, especially West Coasters, will have the best view for the show, according to Space.com. It's likely that 30 to 60 meteors will streak across the sky per hour, though that rate will be even higher for anyone watching in the Northern Hemisphere. Wowzers!
We advise heading to bed early and setting your alarm for the early-morning hours because you definitely don't want to miss this stunning natural fireworks show. And if you're a stargazer outside of the Northern Hemisphere, you can still catch the light show by watching a livestream of the breathtaking natural phenomenon.
