John Legend Debuts Gorgeous New Song at Families Belong Together Rally - Watch the Video
For many, paying attention to the news cycle is a brutal, stressful, but wholly unavoidable part of living under an administration dedicated to ripping away the rights - and the families - of people in America. How do you balance feeling overwhelmed by the constant horrific news with wanting to help? While performing at LA's Families Belong Together rally on Saturday, John Legend debuted a gorgeous new song about exactly that.
"This is a song I wrote called 'Preach,'" he told the crowd, who was also treated to a passionate, fiery speech from Legend's wife, Chrissy Teigen, earlier in the day. In "Preach," the Oscar award-winner sings about wanting to "turn off the phone just to get out of bed" but also acknowledging that he "can't just preach, baby, preach."
